In formula (b-1), R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 are each independently an alkyl group. However, at least one of R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 is a prescribed straight-chain alkyl group, and at least one of R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 is a prescribed branched chain alkyl group.
WIRELINE LUBRICANT FOR USE IN GREASELESS DOWNHOLE LOGGING
A rubber friendly lubricant composition adapted for lubricating the cable in a greaseless down hole logging process including a general formulation: polypropylene glycol, poly alkylene glycol; amine borate; 1,3,4-Thiadiazolidine-2,5-dithione, disodium salt; and, deionized water. The lubricant being compatible with seals and rubbers, and other related materials, used on trucks and other oil field vehicles and equipment. Being water soluble, the lubricant also presents a low potential for fire risk, and is considered environmentally friendly. The lubricant also exhibiting superior freeze properties.
Seal swell agents for lubricating compositions
A composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and a compound represented by formula (I) wherein: x is 0 or 1; R.sup.1 is a hydrocarbyl group containing about 4 or about 18 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 is an aliphatic hydrocarbyl group containing about 1 to about 12 carbon atoms; and y is 0 or 1, which composition is effective at swelling seals. ##STR00001##
Alkyl phosphate amine salts for use in lubricants
A lubricant composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and about 0.01 to about 5 percent by weight of a (thio)phosphoric acid salt (“phos-amine salt”) of at least one hydrocarbyl amine. The hydrocarbyl amine may be a hindered hydrocarbyl amine, an aromatic hydrocarbyl amine, or a combination thereof.
Lubricating composition with alkylated naphthylamine
A lubricating composition includes an oil of lubricating viscosity, an N-alkyl naphthylamine, and at least one ashless antioxidant selected from a diarylamine antioxidant, a phenolic antioxidant, and mixtures thereof. The lubricating composition has a phosphorus content of less than 0.15 weight percent. The combination of the N-alkyl naphthylamine and ashless antioxidant provides a beneficial effect on the basicity of the composition without negatively impacting seals performance.
