Method of Lubricating an Automotive or Industrial Gear
The disclosed technology relates to an automotive or industrial gear oil for automotive or industrial gears, as well as axles and bearings, the automotive or industrial gear oil containing an oil of lubricating viscosity, an optional phosphate and/or thiophosphate compound, a particular sulfurized olefin, and a metal thiophosphate compound, such as zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, as well as a method of improving automotive or industrial gear operating efficiency and temperature by lubricating such automotive or industrial gears with the automotive or industrial gear oil.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition may have excellent long-term anti-foaming performance and detergency while blending a silicone-based anti-foaming agent. Such a lubricating oil composition may contain a base oil (A) and a silicone-based anti-foaming agent (B). A silicon atom content may be 50 ppb by mass to 4,000 ppb by mass, based on a total amount of the lubricating oil composition.

TURBO FLUID MACHINE
A turbo fluid machine includes a rotating member having a bearing-contact surface; an operating part configured to rotate together with the rotating member to compress and discharge a fluid; a housing accommodating the rotating member and the operating part; and a foil bearing having a bearing surface that faces the bearing-contact surface and supporting the rotating member such that the rotating member is rotatable relative to the housing. At least one of the bearing-contact surface or the bearing surface has thereon a coating layer. The coating layer comprises polyamide-imide serving as a binder resin and molybdenum disulfide serving as a solid lubricant. A mass ratio of molybdenum disulfide to polyamide-imide is 0.42 or more.

An object of the present invention is to provide an ester-based lubricating base oil for a fluid bearing that has a high viscosity index and excellent evaporation resistance, hydrolytic stability, and low-temperature fluidity. The present invention provides a grease composition or a lubricating oil composition which is capable of effectively preventing hydrogen brittleness-caused peeling from occurring on a rolling surface of a rolling bearing, is excellent in durability in a high temperature and speed operation, and can be used for a long time. A grease-packed bearing (1) has an inner ring (2), an outer ring (3), and a plurality of rolling elements (4). A sealing member (6) for sealing a grease composition (7) is provided at openings (8a) and (8b) disposed at both axial ends of the inner ring (2) and the outer ring (3). The grease composition (7) includes a base grease composed of a base oil and a thickener and an additive added to the base grease. The additive contains at least one compound selected from among plant-derived polyphenolic compounds and compounds formed by decomposition thereof. The above-described compounds include tannin, gallic acid, ellagic acid, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, curcumin, quercetin, and quinic acid.

An environmentally-improved motor oil blend and related methods for properly lubricating components of an engine and favorably modifying a plastic response of components of the engine, the blend being free of zinc di-alkyl-di-thiophosphates (ZDDP) and free of zinc di-thiophosphate (ZDTP), comprising: a motor oil selected from the motor oil group consisting of Group I, Group II, Group III, Group IV, and Group V motor oils; a motor oil additive comprising alpha-olefins and hydroisomerized hydro-treated severe hydrocracked base oil; ZDDP omitted from the chemical constituents of the motor oil; and ZDTP omitted from the chemical constituents of the motor oil.
