Lubricant system clean-up compositions and methods thereof
The present invention relates to a lubricant and/or clean-out composition comprising: (a) a dispersant component comprising a succinimide dispersant and/or a quaternary ammonium salt dispersant; (b) a carrier fluid component; and (c) an optional corrosion inhibitor, as well as methods of cleaning out deposits in a lubricant system, such as a hydraulic system, using such compositions.
SUSTAINABLE BASE OILS FOR LUBRICANTS
Sustainable lubricant compositions made from recycled thermoplastic polyesters and other reclaimed or biorenewable reactants and a method of formulating them are disclosed. The lubricant compositions comprise a polyester base oil, which incorporates recurring units from a digested thermoplastic polyester, a low-molecular-weight polyol, and C.sub.8-C.sub.24 fatty acid. The base oil has a number-average molecular weight within the range of 300 to 5000 g/mol, a hydroxyl value less than 50 mg KOH/g, and a viscosity at 40 C. less than 5000 cSt. Some of the lubricant compositions comprise the polyester base oil and one or more additives including anti-wear agents, corrosion inhibitors, antioxidants, thickeners, detergents, and the like. The lubricants have properties that rival those of commercial products made from nonrenewable hydrocarbon blends or polyol esters and are useful for many practical applications such as internal combustion engine oils, gear lubrication oils, hydraulic oils, compressor oils, metal working fluids, and lubricating greases.
Lubricant additive compositions containing thiophosphates and thiophosphate derivatives
The invention relates to thiophosphates and derivatives thereof useful as antiwear additive components, lubricant additive compositions and lubricant compositions each comprising such compounds, methods for making and using the same, including methods of lubricating machines and machine parts and methods of extending the useful life of elastomeric seal components of such machines.
Lubrication oil and internal-combustion engine fuel
The objective is to provide lubrication oil and internal-combustion engine fuel for reducing the fuel consumption and for reducing carbon dioxide and other exhaust gas components. The lubrication oil is injected with lubrication oil impregnating agent composed of dimethylalkyl tertiary amine in the range from 0.01 to 1 volume % and desirably in the range from 0.1 to 0.5 volume %. Petroleum oil fuel is injected with fuel oil impregnating agent composed of dimethylalkyl tertiary amine in the range from 0.5 to 1 volume %. The petroleum oil fuel is light oil, kerosene, gasoline, or Bunker A. Any one or both of these lubrication oil and petroleum oil fuel is/are used for an internal-combustion engine.
Lubricating oil composition, method for using lubricating oil composition, and method for producing lubricating oil composition
A lubricating oil composition contains a base oil and a rust inhibitor, in which the base oil has a gas chromatogram measured by gas chromatography satisfying the particular condition (), and the rust inhibitor is at least one selected from a first rust inhibitor, a second rust inhibitor, a third rust inhibitor, and a fourth rust inhibitor, and satisfies the particular condition ().
Lubricant composition
Lubricant compositions comprising a base oil, one or more antioxidants selected from a group consisting of N--naphthyl-N-phenylamine antioxidants and diphenylamine antioxidants; and one or more sulfur-containing additives exhibit outstanding oxidative stability and non-corrosion properties. The N--naphthyl-N-phenylamine antioxidants plus diphenylamine antioxidants in total may be present from about 0.2 wt % to about 0.8 wt %, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition. The sulfur provided by the sulfur-containing additives, in total, may be present from about 50 ppm to about 1000 ppm by weight, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition.
POLYALKYLENE GLYCOL-BASED INDUSTRIAL LUBRICANT COMPOSITIONS
A lubricant composition comprises as a lubricant base, an oil soluble polyalkylene glycol suitable for use as a lubricant in an industrial oil, grease or metal working fluid; and an additive comprising (1) alkylated phenyl--naphthylamine; and (2) 2,2,4-trialkyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline.
COMPOSITION FOR LOW TEMPERATURE
Lubricant composition comprising a dicarboxylic acid ester component which is formed from a dicarboxylic acid selected from the list consisting of adipic acid, phthalic acid, pimilic acid, suberic acid, azelaic acid and sebacic acid, and mixtures thereof and a branched aliphatic alcohol ROH which is defined according to the following formula (I)
##STR00001##
whereas q, r and s are defined as follows, q+r=4 to 9, s=0 to 5, q=1 to 8, and r=1 to 6,
and an ethylene-propylene copolymer.
Production method for complex polyester composition, complex polyester composition, lubricant composition, and lubricant
A production method for a complex polyester composition includes obtaining a complex polyester composition by condensing polyhydric alcohol having three or more hydroxyl groups, a polycarboxylic acid having at least two carboxyl groups and carbon atoms of greater than or equal to 5, and monohydric alcohol having at least one oxyalkylene group in the absence of a solvent, wherein a component having a weight average molecular weight of less than or equal to 2000 in a GPC chart of the complex polyester composition is less than or equal to 43 area %.
Stabilized blends containing antioxidants
The present invention relates to functional fluid compositions containing antioxidants, and specifically stable compositions containing antioxidants with limited solubility in and/or limited compatibility with the functional fluids with which they are used. In particular the present invention deals with functional fluids used in internal combustion engines, such as engine oils, and antioxidants containing a phenolic or benzoic group, where the antioxidant is present in the functional fluid composition at levels that would otherwise cause the composition to be unstable and/or hazy.
