A lubricating oil composition may be suitable for a refrigerator and have excellent thermal stability when used with a refrigerant using difluoromethane (R32), trifluoroiodomethane (CF.sub.3I), and at least one selected from saturated fluorinated hydrocarbon compounds (HFC) other than difluoromethane (R32). Such compositions may include: a base oil (A) with at least one selected from a polyoxyalkylene glycol, a polyvinyl ether, a copolymer of a poly(oxy)alkylene glycol or a monoether thereof and a polyvinyl ether, and a polyol ester; and an aliphatic epoxy compound (B), wherein the content of the aliphatic epoxy compound (B) is more than 2.0% by mass based on the total amount of the lubricating oil composition.

Synthetic lubricant compositions having improved oxidation stability

Embodiments of the present disclosure directed towards synthetic lubricant compositions. In various embodiments, the present disclosure provides a synthetic lubricant compositions including an aromatic amine antioxidant comprising 0.25 to 5 weight percent of a total weight of the synthetic lubricant composition, dithiocarbamate antioxidant comprising 0.25 to 5 weight percent of the total weight of the synthetic lubricant composition, and a polyalkylene glycol PAG comprising 99.25 to 85 weight percent of the total weight of the synthetic lubricant composition, where the synthetic lubricant composition has a total acidic number (TAN) increase of 2 milligrams of potassium hydroxide per gram of the synthetic lubricant composition over 27 days or greater as measured in accordance with modified ASTM D-664, and where the synthetic lubricant composition does not include any of a Group I, II, III, IV base oil.

TCD-Esters for Low Temperature Liquid Applications

The present invention relates to the use of esters of octahydro-4,7-methano-1H-indene-5-methanol (TCD-M) or -dimethanol (TCD-DM) and aliphatic C2-C18 monocarboxylic acids as lubricants in low temperature applications. In addition, the present invention relates to low-temperature lubricant compositions comprising said esters.
