Highly durable and well-adhered graphite coating
Disclosed is a method for fabricating a low friction and highly durable coating on a solid substrate. Also disclosed is a coating that increase durability and reduce friction of a substrate. The coating comprises at least one layer polydopamine and one layer of graphite. Dip coating is used to deposit said polydopamine layer on top of a substrate and then said graphite coating on top of said polydopamine layer.
Low-lead dry film lubricant composition
A composition includes molybdenum disulfide, epoxy binder, and 0.01 to 3 wt % lead. The composition is useful, for example, as dry film lubricant.
Applications for inorganic fullerene-like particles
A nanostructure that includes a multi-layered fullerene-like nano-structure composed of a plurality of layers each having a metal chalcogenide composition that has a molecular formula of MX.sub.2, in which M is a metallic element selected from the group consisting of titanium (Ti), vanadium (V), chromium (Cr), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), zirconium (Zr), niobium (Nb), molybdenum (Mo), technetium (Tc), ruthenium (Ru), rhodium (Rh), palladium (Pd), silver (Ag), cadmium (Cd), hafnium (Hf), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), rhenium (Re), osmium (Os), iridium (Ir), platinum (Pt), gold (Au), mercury (Hg) and combinations thereof, and X is a chalcogen element selected from the group consisting of sulfur (S), selenium (Se), tellurium (Te), oxygen (O) and combinations thereof. An outer layer of the multi-layered fullerene-like structure includes at least one sectioned portion that extends along a direction away from the curvature of the multi-layered fullerene-like nano-structure.
Tubular threaded joint having improved high torque performance
A tubular threaded joint is constituted by a pin and a box each having a contact surface comprising an unthreaded metal contact portion including a seal portion and a shoulder portion and a threaded portion. Of the contact surface of at least one of the pin and the box, the surfaces of the seal portion and the shoulder portion has a first lubricating coating in the form of a solid lubricating coating, and the surface of the threaded portion or the entire surface of the contact surface has a second lubricating coating selected from a viscous liquid lubricating coating and a solid lubricating coating. The first lubricating coating has a coefficient of friction which is higher than that of the second lubricating coating, and the second lubricating coating is positioned on top in a portion where both the first lubricating coating and the second lubricating coating are present.
Nano-tribology compositions and related methods including nano-sheets
Compositions having a plurality of nanoparticles and nano-sheets are disclosed. Methods of making and using the compositions are also disclosed.
POLYMERS AND THE USE THEREOF AS LUBRICATING AGENTS IN THE PRODUCTION OF ALKALI METAL FILMS
The present invention relates to polymers used as rolling lubricating agents, to compositions comprising said polymers, and to alkali metal films including the polymers or compositions on the surface(s) thereof. The use of said polymers and compositions is also described for strip-rolling alkali metals or alloys thereof in order to obtain thin films. Methods for producing said thin films, which are suitable for use in electrochemical cells, are also described. The present invention proposes an improved lubricant according to formula I, which, for example, achieves enhanced conductivity, and/or enables the production of electrochemical cells having an improved life span in cycles.
AN ARTICLE HAVING ANTI-CONTAMINATION SURFACE AND A METHOD FOR FORMING ANTI-CONTAMINATION SURFACE
An article having an anti-contamination surface, including a substrate; a first region present on a portion of a surface of the substrate and having a lubricating layer formed thereon; and a second region present on at least a portion of a surface of the substrate other than the first region and having an anti-adhesion coating layer formed thereon; and a method for forming an anti-contamination surface on the surface of an article.
COATING METHOD OF A COMPOSITE COATING ON A SLIDE, SLIDE AND USE METHOD THEREOF
A composite coating includes a water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat and a nano-silicon varnish. The coating method of the composite coating on the slide includes uniformly stirring the water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat, then coating the surface of the slide with the water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat; rolling patterns on the surface of the water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat by using a sponge embossing roller before the surface of the water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat dries; and after rolling is completed, place to dry, and then coat the nano-silicon varnish to form a smooth surface after confirming the surface of the water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat has dried. The sponge embossing roller is used for rolling the patterns before the water-based two-component polyurethane topcoat has not dried, so that the contact area with the nano-silicon varnish is increased, indirectly promoting the adhesion ability of the nano-silicon varnish and ensuring the firmness of the composite coating.
LUBRICIOUS AND DURABLE COATINGS FOR MEDICAL APPLIANCES
Coatings for medical devices having selectable levels of durability and lubricity are disclosed. The coatings include polymeric material components, the characteristics and relative amounts of which can be selected to provide target levels of durability and lubricity. Methods of making the coatings for medical devices are also disclosed.
Turbo fluid machine
A turbo fluid machine includes a rotating member having a bearing-contact surface; an operating part configured to rotate together with the rotating member to compress and discharge a fluid; a housing accommodating the rotating member and the operating part; and a foil bearing having a bearing surface that faces the bearing-contact surface and supporting the rotating member such that the rotating member is rotatable relative to the housing. At least one of the bearing-contact surface or the bearing surface has thereon a coating layer. The coating layer comprises polyamide-imide serving as a binder resin and molybdenum disulfide serving as a solid lubricant. A mass ratio of molybdenum disulfide to polyamide-imide is 0.42 or more.
