ALCOHOL-BASED ORGANOGEL AS NANOFLUID MEDIUM
An organogel including a base fluid, cetyl alcohol, and a gelling agent provided in an amount to cause the fluid to change from a liquid state to a gelled state at temperatures below at least 25° C. A nanofluid including an organogel and a nanoparticle component which permits the nanofluid to change from a liquid state to a gelled state at temperatures below at least 25° C., the gelled state helping to maintain the nanoparticle component suspended throughout the base fluid; and a method for preparing a gelled nanofluid.
Composition and method of manufacturing calcium magnesium sulfonate greases
A sulfonate-based grease composition and method of manufacture comprising (1) addition of both overbased calcium sulfonate and overbased magnesium sulfonate in a ratio range of 60:40 to 100:1, with the magnesium sulfonate added all at once, a portion prior to conversion and another portion after conversion, and/or one more delay periods between the addition of water or other reactive ingredient and the addition of magnesium sulfonate; (2) one or more delay periods between the addition of at least a portion of a facilitating acid and at least a portion of the next subsequently added ingredient; (3) no conventional non-aqueous converting agents added prior to conversion; or (4) a combination thereof. The grease has a high dropping point and reduced thickener yield.
Lubricant composition containing copolymers of polyisobutylenemethacrylate
The present invention is directed to the use of poly(polyisobutylenemethacrylate) as viscosity index improving component in lubricating oil compositions. The invention is further related to lubricating oil compositions comprising poly(polyisobutylenemethacrylate) with enhanced shear stability.
GREASE COMPOSITION
A grease composition includes a base oil, a thickener, and an additive. The base oil is at least one selected from the group consisting of polyoxyalkylene, ether derivatives of polyoxyalkylene, and mixtures thereof. The additive includes polytetrafluoroethylene as a first solid lubricant and at least one selected from the group consisting of calcium carbonate, calcium oxide, tricalcium phosphate, and calcium salts of fatty acids as a second solid lubricant. The content of the second solid lubricant is 0.5% by mass or more based on the total mass of the composition.
BIODEGRADABLE LUBRICANT WITH TAILORED HYDROLYTIC STABILITY AND IMPROVED THERMAL STABILITY THROUGH ALKOXYLATION OF GLYCEROL
Described herein are methods of stabilizing the beta hydrogen of glycerol based esters by the insertion of alkoxy groups to significantly improve the thermal, oxidative, and hydrolytic stability of the ester and allow for controlling the molar density of esters bonds in the lubricants to maximize hydrolytic stability while maintaining biodegradability and further improving performance properties.
USE OF AN ACTIVATED CARROT FIBER FOR PRODUCING PRODUCTS
The present invention relates to the use of an activated carrot fiber for preparing products in the food or non-food area. The invention also relates to products containing the activated carrot fiber.
GREASE COMPOSITION, AND ROLLING BEARING
A grease composition including: a base oil; a thickener; a zinc sulfonate; a polysulfide; an overbased calcium sulfonate; and triphenyl phosphite, in which a proportion of the zinc sulfonate with respect to a total mass of the base oil and the thickener is 0.030 mass% to 0.045 mass% in terms of a zinc content, a proportion of the polysulfide with respect to the total mass of the base oil and the thickener is 0.16 mass% to 0.24 mass% in terms of a sulfur content, a proportion of the overbased calcium sulfonate with respect to the total mass of the base oil and the thickener is 0.010 mass% to 0.015 mass% in terms of a calcium content, and a proportion of the triphenyl phosphite with respect to the total mass of the base oil and the thickener is 0.24 mass% to 0.36 mass%.
Lubricating oils and greases
A lubricating oil composition comprises an amide and at least one additive. A lubricating grease composition comprises a liquid amide, a thickener comprising a metal soap, and at least one additive. The amide in each composition is the reaction product of a secondary, branched amine and a carboxylic acid. The carboxylic acid may be a monocarboxylic acid or a dicarboxylic acid, including dimer acid. The amide is hydrolytically stable, and may be used to increase the hydrolytic stability of the lubricant oil or grease composition. Alternatively, the amide may be used to increase the additive solubility or detergency of the lubricant oil or grease composition.
Lubricant composition for clamping devices
A lubricating composition which, when used with a device for clamping an article, such as a chuck, produces excellent lubricating properties whilst remaining strongly adhered to metal parts in a clamping mechanism of the device and showing enhanced chemical and physical resistance to fluids such as cutting fluids.
GREASE COMPOSITION FOR A CONSTANT-VELOCITY JOINT
A grease composition for a constant-velocity joint includes a mineral oil, a thickener, a molybdenum dithiocarbamate, a potassium borate hydrate, and a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, wherein a content of the molybdenum dithiocarbamate is 1.2% by mass or more and 8% by mass or less, a content of the zinc dialkyldithiophosphate is 0.3% by mass or more and 2.0% by mass or less, and a content of the potassium borate hydrate is 0.28% by mass or more and 1.9% by mass or less, and wherein a mass ratio of the content of the molybdenum dithiocarbamate to the content of the potassium borate hydrate (molybdenum dithiocarbamate/potassium borate hydrate) is 2 or more and 13 or less, and a mass ratio of the content of the zinc dialkyldithiophosphate to the content of the potassium borate hydrate (zinc dialkyldithiophosphate/potassium borate hydrate) is 0.5 or more and 3.6 or less.
