Acrylate-olefin copolymers as high viscosity base fluids
The invention relates to acrylate-olefin copolymers and to a method for preparing these polymers. The present invention is also directed to lubricant compositions comprising these copolymers, and to the use of these copolymers as a lubricant additive or a synthetic base fluid in a lubricating oil composition, preferably in a gear oil composition, a transmission oil composition, a hydraulic oil composition, an engine oil composition, a marine oil composition, an industrial lubricating oil composition or in grease.
Grease composition
The present invention relates to provision of an extreme pressure agent-containing grease composition using, as a thickener, a urea-based thickener, the grease composition being excellent in both torque transmitting efficiency and leakage prevention performance and also excellent in wear resistance and load resistance. The grease composition contains a base oil (A), a urea-based thickener (B), and an extreme pressure agent (C), wherein particles containing the urea-based thickener (B) in the grease composition satisfies the following requirement (I): Requirement (I): an arithmetic average particle diameter of the particles on an area basis as measured by the laser diffraction/scattering method is 2.0 μm or less, and the extreme pressure agent (C) is at least one selected from an organic metal-based extreme pressure agent, a sulfur-based extreme pressure agent, a phosphorus-based extreme pressure agent, and a sulfur-phosphorus-based extreme pressure agent.
USE OF A LUBRICATING GREASE COMPOSITION HAVING A HIGH UPPER USE TEMPERATURE
A lubricant grease composition is disclosed, the lubricant grease composition including a base oil and a thickener. The thickener includes an aluminum-based complex soap and a polyurea thickener, wherein the lubricant grease is configured for lubrication of surfaces of components in which an upper use temperature of the lubricant grease composition is at least 90° C.
Lubricating base oils from esterified alkoxylated polyols using saturated long-chain fatty acids
The present disclosure relates to methods and compositions for making bio-based, biodegradable, and non-bioaccumulating lubricating base oils generated by esterifying alkoxylated polyols (average alkoxylation ≥3) with long-chain (≥C14) saturated and unsaturated fatty acids (FA) or fatty acids modified using industry recognized techniques.
COMPLEX, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAID COMPLEX
A complex including an active ingredient, and a surfactant. The active ingredient is one or more less-oil-soluble substances selected from the group consisting of a hardly-oil-soluble substance and an oil-insoluble substance, and the one or more less-oil-soluble substances function as an additive for lubricating oil. A method of making the complex.
ROLLING BEARING
Provided is a rolling bearing using a retainer, particularly a highly reliable retainer in which dimensional stability required for a retainer of an outer ring guide type, ductility required for a crown-type retainer, improvement in adhesion of grease with a poly-α-olefin oil or the like as a base oil, and deformation prevention at a high speed can be achieved. The rolling bearing includes at least an inner ring 1, an outer ring 3, a synthetic resin retainer 9, and a rolling element 7, in which the synthetic resin retainer 9 is formed of a polyamide resin composition including polyamide 410 and a reinforcing fiber material with a content of 0% by weight to 40% by weight.
Grease composition
A grease composition may be used for speed reducers and speed increasers, being excellent in both torque transmission efficiency and leak prevention performance. The grease composition may contain a base oil (A) and a urea-based thickener (B), which is used for speed reducers and speed increasers, wherein the particles containing the urea-based thickener (B) in the grease composition satisfy the following requirement (I). Requirement (I): the area-based arithmetic average particle diameter of the particles is 2.0 μm or less, as measured by a laser diffraction/scattering method.
Composition and Method of Manufacturing and Using Extremely Rheopectic Sulfonate-Based Greases
An extremely rheopectic sulfonate-based grease composition and method comprising adding overbased calcium sulfonate, overbased magnesium sulfonate, and a facilitating acid, using a particular type of overbased calcium sulfonate and/or methods for adding overbased calcium sulfonate relative to the magnesium sulfonate and facilitating acid to favor the reaction between the magnesium sulfonate and facilitating acid. A preferred overbased calcium sulfonate comprises benzene rings having multiple alkyl groups. Preferred methods comprise (1) adding all calcium sulfonate after adding the magnesium sulfonate and facilitating acid, (2) adding a first portion of calcium sulfonate with the magnesium sulfonate before adding the facilitating acid and a second portion of calcium sulfonate after the facilitating acid, and/or (3) one or more calcium sulfonate delay periods relative to adding the facilitating acid. The extremely rheopectic grease is fluid and pourable and only takes on a grease structure after milling or shearing.
Automotive slide member
The present disclosure relates to an automotive slide member including a first slide portion having a first lubricant applied between first portions of a first friction slide mechanism, and a second slide portion having a second lubricant applied between second portions of a second friction slide mechanism. The first slide portion is arranged at a part to be touched by an operator who attaches the automotive slide member to an automobile or a user of the automobile. The second slide portion is arranged at a part that is not touched by the operator who attaches the automotive slide member to the automobile or the user of the automobile. The second lubricant contains a relatively larger amount of conductive carbon than that of the first lubricant.
