LUBRICANT ADDITIVES, LUBRICANT COMPOSITIONS, AND APPLICATIONS OF SAME
A lubricant composition includes a base lubricant and a plurality of lubricant additive molecules. Each molecule includes a surface active group attractable to a target surface, wherein the surface active group comprises a carboxyl group, a siloxyl group, an amine group, or a mixture thereof, and a carbon containing component connected to the surface active group, wherein the carbon containing component comprises a carbon ring, wherein the surface active group and the carbon containing component are adapted such that the carbon film is formed in situ on the target surface of the target machine only when tribological energy activates the lubricant additive to unravel the carbon containing component under a pressure and a temperature during operation.
Slide member, bicycle component using slide member, and fishing tackle component using slide member
A slide member is provided with a base material and a slide layer. The slide layer is disposed on at least a portion of the base material. The slide layer contains a solid lubricant and a plurality of hard particles, the hard particles being harder than the solid lubricant.
RESIN COMPOSITION AND SLIDING MEMBER
A resin composition includes: a binder resin made of a thermosetting resin; an additive dispersed in the binder resin, wherein the additive includes PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), and at least one of graphite and MoS.sub.2, an average particle size of each of the additive is less than 10 m, and an average particle size of the PTFE is larger than the average particle size of graphite and MoS.sub.2.
Lubricant additives, lubricant compositions, and applications of same
A lubricant composition includes a base lubricant and a plurality of lubricant additive molecules. Each lubricant additive molecule includes a surface active group attractable to a target surface, and a carbon containing component connected to the surface active group, for providing a carbon source to form a carbon film on the target surface. A method for in situ forming of a carbon film using the lubricant composition, includes adding the lubricant composition into a target machine such that the lubricant composition is in contact with a target surface of the target machine, and operating the target machine to cause a temperature and a pressure at the target surface so that the carbon containing component is unraveled thereon to form a carbon film on the target surface during the operation.
SLIDING MEMBER
A sliding member having a sliding surface that is at least partially formed of a surface of a lubricating member is provided. The sliding member includes: a base body as a sintered body of a compact containing metal powder, the base body being integrated with the lubricating member; and the lubricating member as an injection molded product of a resin composition containing a polyarylene sulfide-based resin and a carbon material.
Methods and systems requiring lubrication
Methods and systems in which a shapable mass, which is processed according to the method or in the system, has a lubricant applied thereto. As it is processed in the system, the shapable mass having the lubricant applied thereto is used to transfer lubricant to a part or parts of the system.
SLIDING MEMBER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A sliding member includes: a base material; a solid lubricant layer arranged on a surface of the base material; a defect layer having a material defect, disposed in the solid lubricant layer, and being changeable into an ultra low friction layer by mechanical stress more easily than changing from the solid lubricant layer to the ultra low friction layer; and a ultra low friction layer covering a surface of the defect layer.
SLIDING SYSTEM
A sliding system includes a pair of sliding members having opposing sliding surfaces adapted to move relative to each other, and a lubricating oil interposed between the opposing sliding surfaces. Here, at least one of the sliding surfaces is a covered surface covered with a specific chromium nitride film. The lubricating oil contains an oil-soluble molybdenum compound formed of a molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate. In the chromium nitride film, when an amount of atoms constituting the entire chromium nitride film is set as 100 atom %, there is 32 atom % to 47 atom % of N, the balance is Cr, and a relative area which is an area ratio of the (111) plane with respect to the (200) plane obtained when the chromium nitride film is analyzed by X-ray diffraction is 20% to 30%.
Low friction squeak free assembly
A tribologically modified polyoxymethylene polymer composition is disclosed. The polyoxymethylene polymer composition is comprised of a polyoxymethylene polymer and at least one tribological modifier. The tribological modifier may comprise an ultra-high molecular weight silicone having a kinematic viscosity of greater than 100,000 mm.sup.2 s.sup.?1. When tested against itself, the composition of the present disclosure exhibits an extremely low dynamic coefficient of friction and produces no discernible noise over a very broad temperature range, such as from ?20? C. to 60? C.
Dust-resistant sliding member and method for producing same, window regulator carrier plate, and method for realizing dust-resistant slidability
A method for producing a dust-resistant sliding member, the method including a step of preparing a resin composition containing 0.5 to 5.0 parts by mass of a specific lubricant that is liquid at 25 C., 0.1 to 30 parts by mass of an inorganic filler, 1.0 to 20 parts by mass of a specific modified olefin-based polymer, and 0.01 to 5.0 parts by mass of an alkylene glycol-based polymer having a primary or secondary amino group, per 100 parts by mass of a polyacetal copolymer containing oxyalkylene units in a ratio of 0.4 to 0.9 mol % relative to all of the structural units; and a step of molding the resin composition into a prescribed shape.
