The disclosure relates to the use of a lubricating composition including at least one base oil and at least one organic compound for reducing, or even eliminating, knocking in the engine of vehicles, preferably motor vehicles.

ADDITIVES FOR FUELS AND OILS COMPRISING FUNCTIONALISED DIBLOCK COPOLYMERS

Concentrates containing specific functionalised diblock copolymers serve as effective additives for improving the cold flow behaviour of fuels and oils, the copolymers being derived from a terminally-unsaturated intermediate polymer obtained via a metallocene process involving hydrogen.

Lubrican composition comprising acyclic hindered amines

A lubricant composition including an acyclic amine compound. A method of lubricating a system including a fluoro-polymer seal with the lubricant composition is also provided. An additive concentrate for a lubricant composition is also provided. The acyclic amine compound is useful for adjusting the total base number of a lubricant composition. The lubricant composition is compatible with fluoropolymer seals.

DRY LUBRICANT FOR CONVEYING CONTAINERS

The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to the container or conveyor a mixture of a water-miscible silicone material and a water-miscible lubricant. The mixture can be applied in relatively low amounts, to provide thin, substantially non-dripping lubricating films. In contrast to dilute aqueous lubricants, the lubricants of the invention provide drier lubrication of the conveyors and containers, a cleaner conveyor line and reduced lubricant usage, thereby reducing waste, cleanup and disposal problems.

Viscosity Index Improver Concentrates

A viscosity index improver containing, in diluent oil, one or more optionally functionalized linear block copolymers having at least one block derived from alkenyl arene covalently linked to at least one block derived from diene in an amount that is greater than the critical overlap concentration (c.sub.h*), in mass %, for the linear block copolymers in the diluent oil; and ester base stock and/or at least one star (or radial) polymer, the star polymer being present in an amount such that the c/c.sub.h* value of the star polymer in the concentrate falls within the range of from 0.01 to about 1.6, wherein c is the concentration in mass % of star polymer in the concentrate and c.sub.h* is the critical overlap concentration in mass % for the star polymer in the diluent oil used to form the concentrate.
