Embodiments in accordance with the present invention relate generally to a variety of norbornene derivatives exhibiting olfactive properties and are suitable as fine fragrance ingredients. More specifically, this invention relates to various fragrance compositions containing one or more of a compound of formulae (IA) to (IC): ##STR00001##
Wherein m, n, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are as defined herein. The compounds of formulae (IA) to (IC) are useful as perfumes, colognes, and in perfume augmenting, modifying, enhancing, and imparting compositions. The compositions of this invention are therefore useful in a variety of products including perfumes, colognes, soaps, detergents, candles, air fresheners, trash bags, tissues, deodorants, lotions, skin care products, hair products, sanitary products, cleaning products, and the like.

A fragrance composition comprising one or more musk or fragrance accords for use in reducing or inhibiting a subject's physiological reaction to stress. The composition can be incorporated into consumer products.

A malodor reducing composition is provided. The composition includes a perfume mixture including (a) at least one odor-reducing material; and (b) at least one N-heterocycle selected from an aromatic N-heterocyclic moiety and N,S-heterocyclic moiety. The at least one odor-reducing material exhibits an Odor Value (OV) having a common decimal logarithm (log.sub.10 OV) of greater than about 5.5.

A stain and odor treatment composition and method of use is provided. The composition is a powdered pre-application composition for treatment of odor and/or stains in textiles. The composition includes a powdered oxidizing agent, a powdered buffering agent, and an odor-modifying agent. In one embodiment the oxidizing agent may be at least 50 weight percent of the composition. In another embodiment the buffering agent may be between about 10 weight percent and about 30 weight percent of the composition. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a powdered buffering agent, combining an odor-modifying agent with the powdered buffering agent, and mixing the odor-modifying agent with the powdered buffering agent. The method of use may include the steps of combining the powdered pre-application composition with water, mixing the powdered pre-application composition with the water to form a cleaning solution, and applying the cleaning solution to a textile.

The fragrance composition includes a chemaesthethic agent selected from: vanillyl ethyl ether, vanillyl n-propyl ether, vanillyl isopropyl ether, vanillyl butyl ether, elemol, elimicin, lime oxide, ocimene quintoxide, 2-isopropenyl-5-methyl-5-vinyltetrahydrofuran and isopulegol. In particular, the household product is preferably an air freshener dispenser device, a floor cleaner, a kitchen or bathroom surface cleaner, a toilet rim block, or a toilet cistern block.
