10385278 · 2019-08-20 · ·

The use of bio oil from at least one renewable source in a hydrotreatment process, in which process hydrocarbons are formed from said glyceride oil in a catalytic reaction, and the iron content of said bio oil is less than 1 w-ppm calculated as elemental iron. A bio oil intermediate including bio oil from at least one renewable source and the iron content of said bio oil is less than 1 w-ppm calculated as elemental iron.

Catalyst for producing hydrogenated biodiesel and method of producing the same

Disclosed herein is a catalyst for producing biodiesel, including a carrier having water resistance and an active component supported on the carrier and used in a hydrotreating reaction or a decarboxylation reaction. Since the catalyst for producing biodiesel includes a carrier having strong water resistance, the deactivation of the catalyst due to the water produced through a process of producing HBD can be prevented, thus remarkably improving the long term stability of a catalyst.

Purification of recycled and renewable organic material

A method is disclosed of purifying a recycled or renewable organic material, wherein the recycled or renewable organic material contains one or more impurities selected from a group consisting of silicon compounds, phosphorous, Cl and sterols. Exemplary embodiments include (a) providing the recycled or renewable organic material; (c) heat treating the recycled or renewable organic material at 100 to 450? C.; and (f) hydrotreating the heat treated recycled or renewable organic material in a presence of a hydrotreating catalyst; to obtain purified hydrotreated recycled or renewable organic material.

PROCESS FOR THE SELECTIVE HYDROGENATION OF VEGETABLE OILS USING EGG-SHELL TYPE CATALYSTS
20190249113 · 2019-08-15 ·

The invention relates to a process for the hydrogenation of vegetable oils that selectively converts polyunsaturated fatty acids into mono-unsaturated fatty acids, and to the products obtained therefrom. Vegetable oils obtained by the process according to the invention have a particularly high content of monounsaturated fatty acids and are suitable for use as raw materials for the synthesis of chemical intermediates.

One or more techniques are disclosed for a process of preparing a concentrated form of a vegetable-based stearic acid from a plant source. The process may comprise drying and deodorizing a vegetable based emulsion; and further concentrating the resulting fatty acid and triglyceride mix. The process may further comprise distillation of the resulting concentrated fatty acid and triglyceride mix, to separate the free fatty acids from the triglycerides. Additionally, the process may comprise fractional distillation of the free fatty acid distillate, to produce a concentrated from of the stearic acid, separating it from other fatty acids.

DEVICE FOR ELECTRICALLY PROCESSING A FATTY SUBSTANCE OF PLANT ORIGIN

The present invention relates to a device for electrically processing a fatty substance of plant origin, comprising a series of electrodes (1 and 2) and an enclosure (4), said device being characterised in that the enclosure (4) is provided with at least one electrical connector (5) placed on the outer surface (40) of the enclosure (4), a series of electrical connections for connecting each electrode of said series of electrodes to said electrical connector (5), with the current flow distances of the electrical connections being equal in relation to each other, and a first inlet (6) and a first outlet (7) for the fatty substance, and in that said device comprises a filter (12) having an inlet (13) in fluidic connection with said first fatty-substance outlet (7) of the enclosure (4) and an output (14) in fluidic connection with said first fatty-substance inlet (6) of the enclosure (4).

METHOD OF PREPARING FATTY ACID ALKYL ESTER SULFONATE USING COFFEE OIL
20240199539 · 2024-06-20 · ·

Disclosed is a method of preparing fatty acid alkyl ester sulfonate using coffee oil. The fatty acid alkyl ester sulfonate prepared using the coffee-derived oil has superior cleaning capacity compared to commercially available alkylbenzene sulfonate (LAS). In addition, a detergent composition containing fatty acid alkyl ester sulfonate prepared using coffee-derived oil exhibits cleaning capacity equal to or higher than that of a detergent containing fatty acid alkyl ester sulfonate prepared using palm oil and can be used as an alternative to palm oil.

Solar steam explosion of algae

A system includes an algae bioreactor that contains an algae slurry, a heat exchanger in fluid communication with the algae bioreactor to receive the algae slurry from the algae bioreactor and heat and increase a pressure of the algae slurry, and one or more valves and a flash vessel in fluid communication with a discharge of the heat exchanger to flash the algae slurry and create steam and algae biomass. A separator receives the algae biomass from the flash vessel and separates oils from the algae biomass to generate a biofuel.
