CANDLE WITH SCENT
A scented candle is provided. The candle has a body made of a flammable material and a wick. The body of the candle is provided with one or more bores adapted for receiving a respective scent element therein as selected by a user.
Candle Making Apparatus
Disclosed is a candle making apparatus including an electric appliance for a process of sequentially melting, mixing and holding the constituents of a container candle inside a jug and at a molten temperature until a user is ready to pour the melt into a container. Typically the constituents of such candles include vegetable wax, soy products, vegetable oils, fats or fatty acids. They are melted at a higher temperature, then mixed, and cooled so that volatile ingredients can be added at a lower temperature while the mixture remains melted, and is further stirred. The process is controlled by a microprocessor. A visual interface displays progress and accepts user input.
COMPOSITION FOR CANDLE
A composition for a candle which is characterized in that it includes, in percent by weight: from 0 to 40% of at least one fatty alcohol, from 3 to 10% of at least one volatile alkane whose flash point is less than 180? C., from 0 to 3% of at least one wax, from 0 to 3% of at least one mixture of unsaponifiables, and from 47 to 95% of at least one at least partially hydrogenated vegetable oil.
Natural wax composition
Proposed is a natural wax composition including 80 to 95 parts by weight of natural plant oil being a mixture of different kinds of oil, 3 to 20 parts by weight of wax, and 1 to 3 parts by weight of a preservative. Therefore, a natural wax composition can be provided that enables anyone to easily and conveniently mold Do-it-Yourself (DIY) scented candles even without the need for any expert knowledge for making scented candles. The natural wax composition can exhibit cream-type properties, leading to a reduction in liquefaction time compared to solid wax, thereby significantly reducing the manufacturing time of scented candles.
WAX FORMULATIONS HAVING IMPROVED RELEASE CHARACTERISTICS
The aspects presented herein provide wax formulations and candles having improved release characteristics from containers.
WAX COMPOSITIONS AND THE EFFECT OF METALS ON BURN RATES
A wax composition is disclosed, comprising a hydrogenated natural oil with (i) at least about 50 wt % of a triacylglycerol component having a fatty acid composition from about 14 to about 25 wt % C16:0 fatty acid, about 45 to about 60 wt % C18:1 fatty acid and about 20 to about 30 wt % C18:0 fatty acid, (ii) a nickel content of less than 1 ppm, and (iii) a melt point of about 49? C. to about 57? C. The hydrogenated natural oil is filtered and/or bleached to obtain a nickel content of less than 0.5 ppm. A candle is also disclosed, comprising a wick and the above described wax.
Fragrance compositions containing isomeric alkoxynonenols
A composition containing at least one isomeric alkoxynonenol, in particular, isomeric 8-alkoxy-4,8-dimethylnon-1-en-3-ol, in an amount effective to impart a fragrance to the composition. A fragrance composition containing at least one isomeric alkoxynonenol in an amount effective to impart a fragrance to the composition. A consumer product containing the fragrance composition having at least one isomeric alkoxynonenol in an amount effective to impart a fragrance to the composition. A method of imparting a fragrance to a consumer product by adding to the consumer product a fragrance composition containing at least one isomeric alkoxynonenol in an amount effective to impart a fragrance to the consumer product.
Wax melt system
A wickless wax melt includes a prilled wax body defined by two opposing substantially planar surfaces and four sidewalls. At least one volatile material is disposed within the wax body and the wax body is characterized by an oil content up to about 10% to impart a non-greasy feel thereto and wherein the wax body weighs more than about 0.01 kg.
FATTY ACID ESTER-BASED WAX COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF
This invention relates to a wax composition comprising one or more fatty acid diester compounds having the formula of
##STR00001##
R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.4 to C.sub.50 alkyl or aryl; and n.sub.1 is an integer from 2 to 10. This invention also relates to a wax composition comprising: a) one or more fatty acid monoester or diester compounds having the formula of:
##STR00002##
and b) one or more hydroxylated fatty acid diester compounds having the formula of
##STR00003##
In these formulae, R is H or COR.sub.1; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.4 to C.sub.50 alkyl or aryl; n.sub.2 is an integer from 2 to 24; m is an integer from 2 to 12; and .(OH).sub.m represents 2 to 12 hydroxyl groups substituting for 2 to 12 hydrogen atoms in the alkyl groups R.sub.1 and/or R.sub.2. Uses of the compositions are also disclosed.
CANDLE WITH A PRINTED OBJECT
A candle including a mass of opaque fuel and a wick extending therethrough is disclosed. A printed object is embedded in the mass of opaque fuel, wherein the printed object includes a plastic material having ink disposed thereon to depict an image.
