Candle with embedded item and methods for manufacturing and selling same
A candle with an embedded item and methods for manufacturing same are disclosed. A method for manufacturing a candle having an embedded item can include providing a first set of items of a first value and a second set of items of a second value different from the first value, combining the two sets to create a third set, and distributing the items of the third set among a set of candles, one item per candle, where the presence, nature, or value of the item within the candle is obscured. The method can further include selling the candles for a first price, wherein, the presence of the embedded item, the nature of the embedded item, the value of the embedded item, or the value of the embedded item relative to the first price is not known to the purchaser. The embedded item can comprise an object redeemable for a prize.

Device for manufacturing scented candle
Provided is a device for manufacturing a scented candle, the device including: a main body; a wax and oil supply portion provided at an upper portion of the main body and including a wax supplier melting and supplying wax and an oil supplier supplying fragrance oil; a base provided at a lower portion of the main body; and a container provided on the base and receiving the liquid wax and the fragrance oil.
MULTIPLE CANDLE WICK ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS AND APPARTUS FOR MAKING THE SAME
Apparatus for making wax-coated candle wick assemblies are provided within include a wax applicator sized and configured to receive therein a multiple candle wick construction having first and second spaced apart candle wicks and a ladder filament connected to and extending back and forth between the first and second candle wicks so as to establish respective crossing portions that are spaced apart from one another along a lengthwise direction of the wick construction. A forming device is positioned relative to the inlet of the wax applicator channel to assist in folding the candle wick construction about a longitudinal axis thereof and into a generally U-shaped configuration such that conveyance of the candle wick construction through the wax applicator will sequentially fold the candle wick construction into such U-shaped configuration and maintain such U-shaped configuration by the application of wax thereon.
Wax compositions and the effect of metals on burn rates
A wax composition is disclosed, comprising a hydrogenate natural oil with (i) at least about 50 wt % of a triacylglycerol component having a fatty acid composition from about 14 to about 25 wt % C16:0 fatty acid, about 45 to about 60 wt % C18:1 fatty acid and about 20 to about 30 wt % C18:0 fatty acid, (ii) a nickel content of less than 1 ppm, and (iii) a melt point of about 49° C. to about 57° C. The hydrogenated natural oil is filtered and/or bleached to obtain a nickel content of less than 0.5 ppm. A candle is also disclosed, comprising a wick and the above described wax.
Multiple candle wick assemblies and methods and apparatus for making the same
Candle wick assemblies are provided having candle wick construction provided with multiple (e.g., two or more) candle wicks and a wax sheath covering the multiple candle wicks of the candle wick construction. The multiple candle wick construction will include at least first and second spaced-apart candle wicks and a ladder filament connected to and extending back and forth between the first and second candle wicks so as to establish respective crossing portions that are spaced apart from one another along a lengthwise direction of the wick assembly. The crossing portions of the ladder filament are folded about the longitudinal axis of the candle wick construction so that the candle wick assembly is in a generally U-shaped configuration. The crossing portions may have a generally concave central region when the candle wick assembly is in the generally U-shaped configuration while the wax sheath has a concavity generally corresponding to the concave central region which extends along the lengthwise direction of the wick assembly relative to the longitudinal axis of the candle wick construction.

FLEXIBLE WAX AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
The disclosure relates to flexible wax compositions and a method of making the same. Described herein is a wax composition containing about 20 wt % to about 45 wt % monoacylglycerides, about 28 wt % to about 40 wt % diacylglycerides, and about 10 wt % to about 45 wt % acylglyceride polymers, which contain one or more dimerized fatty acid residue and a plurality of glycerol moieties. The flexible wax composition described herein has an average creep stiffness of less than about 30 MPa and can be used in candles, paper coatings, box coatings, fruit coatings, broadsizing for OSB, tire and rubber, polyvinyl chloride piping, crayons, and personal care applications.
