The invention relates to compositions and methods of treatment employing compositions comprising polyelectrolyte complexes. The compositions include a water-soluble first polyelectrolyte bearing a net cationic charge or capable of developing a net cationic charge and a water-soluble second polyelectrolyte bearing a net anionic charge or capable of developing a net anionic charge. The total polyelectrolyte concentration of the first solution is at least 110 millimolar. The composition may be a concentrate, to be diluted prior to use to treat a surface.

The present invention relates to an aqueous composition for removing soils from a surface to be cleaned, formed from water, a detergent mixture and a rinse aid, wherein the detergent mixture comprises a peroxidation catalyst and wherein the rinse aid comprises an oxygen source. Such a composition may provide a more effective cleaning behaviour. The first surfactant and the second surfactant are present in a combined total amount of about 0.1% to about 25% percent by weight based on the total weight of the aqueous liquid detergent.

A liquid detergent composition may have a continuous liquid phase and solid particles dispersed in the continuous phase. The continuous phase may be transparent or translucent.
