Aqueous surfactant compositions

Aqueous surfactant compositions comprising one or more alpha-sulfo fatty acid disalt (A) of general formula (I)
R.sup.1CH(SO.sub.3M.sup.1)COOM.sup.2(I), in which the radical R.sup.1 is a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl radical having 6 to 18 carbon atoms and the radicals M.sup.1 and M.sup.2, independently of each other, are selected from H, Li, Na, K, Ca/2, Mg/2, ammonium, and alkanolamine, one or more sulfoketone (B) selected from compounds (F) and compounds (G) wherein the compounds (F) have general formula (VI)
R.sup.6CH.sub.2COCHR.sup.7(SO.sub.3M.sup.8)(VI), in which the radicals R.sup.6 and R.sup.7, independently of each other, are a linear or branched alkyl radical having 6 to 18 carbon atoms and the radical M.sup.8 is selected from H, Li, Na, K, Ca/2, Mg/2, ammonium, and alkanolamine, and the compounds (G) have general formula (VII)
(SO.sub.3M.sup.9)R.sup.8CHCOCHR.sup.9(SO.sub.3M.sup.10)(VII), in which the radicals R.sup.8 and R.sup.9, independently of each other, are a linear or branched alkyl radical having 6 to 18 carbon atoms and the radicals M.sup.9 and M.sup.10, independently of each other, are selected from H, Li, Na, K, Ca/2, Mg/2, ammonium and, alkanolamine, and water, wherein the amount of the compound (A) is greater than the amount of the compound (B), both based on the total aqueous surfactant composition. The compositions have good foaming ability, good skin compatibility, a pleasant sensory feel to the foam, and are suitable for cosmetic products, detergent, and cleaners.

Unit Dose Packs With Anti-Efflorescence Formulations

Unit dose packs and methods for of producing and using the same are provided, where the unit dose packs have reduced efflorescence. In accordance with one embodiment, the unit dose pack includes a wash composition encapsulated within a film. The wash composition includes a reverse poloxamer present in an amount of from about 8 to about 20 weight percent, glycerin present in an amount of from about 0 to about 30 weight percent, polyethylene glycol present in an amount of from about 0 to about 30 weight percent, an anionic surfactant present in an amount of from about 9 to about 18 weight percent, a non-ionic surfactant present in an amount of from about 15 to about 30 weight percent, and a linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid present in an amount of from about 4 to about 8 weight percent, all based on a total weight of the wash composition.

Water-Based Cleaner for Removing Adhesives, Goo Substances, and Pine Sap

A water-based cleaner for removing adhesives and goo substances. The cleaner contains water, particles of a multi-valent metal fatty acid soap such as magnesium stearate or calcium stearate, and a surfactant that facilitates wetting of the soap particles. The soap has a low solubility in water, such as less than 100 mg/liter. Some of the soap particles may have an elongated shape with aspect ratios of 10 or more. The cleaner may also contain an abrasive material such as soda lime glass powder, limestone powder, or biodegradable polymer powder. To remove adhesive from a surface\, the cleaner is rubbed against a surface, for example with a scrubber. The present cleaner causes adhesive to detach from the surface, reattachment of the adhesive is prevented. The detached adhesive is then rinsed away with water.
