Articles of Manufacture with Polyurea Capsules Cross-linked with Chitosan
Novel articles of manufacture are described based on a combination of an adjunct material and microcapsules made by an improved process. The improved microcapsules are chitosan urea and encapsulate a benefit agent. The process comprises combining an adjunct material formed of microcapsules formed by a water phase comprising hydrolyzing chitosan in an acidic medium at a pH of 6.5 or less for an extended period and combining with a polyisocyanate. The reaction product of the hydrolyzed chitosan and polyisocyanate yields a microcapsule having improved release characteristics, with enhanced degradation characteristics in OECD test method 301B.
Encapsulation method
A method of encapsulating an active comprising preparing a first mixture comprising the active, a compound that functions as a Michael donor, and a compound that functions as a Michael acceptor, preparing a second mixture comprising water and an emulsifier; preparing a reaction mixture by combining the first mixture, the second mixture, and a compound that functions as a Michael catalyst; agitating the reaction mixture; wherein the active has a water solubility of at most 0.5% (w/w) at 25° C.
Liquid loading composition, method of making and use thereof
A method for formulating a composition contains the step of coating a granular absorbent material with a coating agent to produce a coated absorbent material and mixing the coated absorbent material with a sanitation agent, wherein the coated absorbent material absorbs the sanitation agent to form the liquid loading composition. Liquid-loading compositions that can absorb liquids in many applications, including clean-up and farming, are also disclosed.
PACKAGING FOR PERFUME PARTICLES
A packaged laundry product comprising packaging and perfume particles contained in said packaging, wherein the packaging comprises: a) receptacle formed from a material comprising cellulosic fibres; and b) 1 to 5 wt. % of the packaging a perfume barrier layer; wherein the perfume particles comprise: i) carrier material; and ii) perfume components.
BENEFIT AGENT CONTAINING DELIVERY PARTICLE
Benefit agent containing delivery particles that can be supplied as slurries, compositions comprising such particles, and processes for making and using such particles and compositions.
Polyurea/Polyurethane Microcapsules
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of polyurea/polyurethane microcapsules enclosing at least one lipophilic active ingredient, preferably perfume- or aroma-containing polyurea/polyurethane microcapsules, which can be carried out independently of pH compared to the processes for the preparation of polyurea/polyurethane microcapsules of the prior art. In addition, the present invention relates to polyurea/polyurethane microcapsules obtainable by the process of the invention. In another aspect, the invention described herein relates to the use of such microcapsules or microcapsule dispersions for the manufacture of household products, textile care products, detergents, fabric softeners, cleaning products, scent boosters, scent lotions and fragrance enhancers, cosmetics, personal care products, agricultural products, pharmaceutical products, print coatings for paper and the like. Ultimately, the present invention relates to consumer products comprising such polyurea/polyurethane microcapsules.
Process for the Preparation of Microcapsules
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of biodegradable microcapsules, in particular biodegradable protein- and/or polysaccharide-based microcapsules, as well as dispersions of such microcapsules (microcapsule slurry) that enclose at least one hydrophobic active ingredient. In addition, the present invention relates to biodegradable microcapsules obtainable by the process according to the invention. In another aspect, the present invention relates to the use of the microcapsules and dispersions as an ingredient in consumer products.
Compositions containing multiple populations of microcapsules
A consumer product including a fabric and home composition providing for multiple blooms of fragrance, the multiple blooms being provided for by different populations of microcapsules and method related thereto.
Biodegradable Polyurea/Polyurethane Microcapsules
The present invention relates to a process for preparing biodegradable polyurea/polyurethane microcapsules, preferably perfume-containing polyurea/polyurethane microcapsules, which have improved biodegradability compared to prior art microcapsules. In addition, the present invention relates to biodegradable polyurea/polyurethane microcapsules comprising at least one lipophilic active ingredient obtainable by the process according to the invention. In another aspect, the invention described herein relates to the use of such microcapsules or microcapsule dispersions comprising the microcapsules according to the invention for the manufacture of household products, textile care products, detergents, fabric softeners, cleaning agents, scent boosters, scent lotions or scent enhancers, cosmetics, personal care products, agricultural products, pharmaceutical products or printing coatings for paper. Ultimately, the present invention relates to consumer products comprising such microcapsules or microcapsule dispersions.
Multi-core granules
A granule comprising (a) at least three cores comprising a biological active and a plasticizable polymer, wherein the cores are made of a material having an elongation upon break of at least 30%, and wherein the diameter of the cores is at least 50 μm and at most two thirds of the diameter of the granule; (b) a solid matrix interspacing the cores of (a), wherein the solid matrix is made of a material having an elongation upon break of less than 30%; and (c) optionally a coating consisting of one or more layer(s) surrounding the granule. A detergent composition comprising a detergent builder, a surfactant, and a granule as described. Use of the granule as a component in a process for manufacturing a detergent composition.
