POLYSTYRENE AND/OR STYRENE COPOLYMERS SOLUBILIZING COMPOSITION
A composition for solubilizing polystyrene and/or styrene copolymers, including a first component and a second component, in which the first component is selected from solvents having a flashpoint of at least 25? C., and the second component is soluble in the first component. The use of the composition as a cleaning composition for the removal of polystyrene and/or styrene copolymers from a surface and a method for the removal of polystyrene and/or styrene copolymers from a surface.
METHODS FOR SPORE REMOVAL
Disclosed herein are methods for removing spores from skin, the method including dispensing an effective amount of a composition into or onto an article, wherein the composition includes water and from about 0.04 wt % to about 4 wt % polymeric cationic antimicrobial, nonionic antimicrobial or combinations thereof; contacting a skin surface with the composition; mechanically acting on the skin surface for at least one (1) second while the skin surface is in the presence of the composition; and removing at least a portion of the composition from the surface of the skin, wherein removing the composition also removes spores from the skin surface.
Use of alkoxylated non-ionic surfactants as additive in aqueous membrane cleaning compositions
The object of the present invention relates to the use of an branched alkoxylated non-ionic surfactant as an additive to an aqueous membrane cleaning composition, wherein the surfactant has an HLB.sub.d value of 9 to 12.5 and an average degree of branching B.sub.s1.5 and wherein the surfactant has the following formula: ##STR00001##
wherein R is a C8-C18 linear or branched hydrocarbon chain, X is O or N, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another are hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, or a mixture of these, n has a value of from 1 to 8, m has a value of from 1 to 8, p has a value of from 0 to 8.
Composition comprising an alkaline base and thioglycolate salt for cleaning and decontaminating animal carcasses
Compositions and methods for cleaning and decontaminating animal carcasses are disclosed. The compositions comprise a mud ball remover having a thioglycolate salt and a base and an antimicrobial agent effective to remove mud balls and reduce microbial contamination of a hide surface at ambient temperatures. The methods comprise cleaning and decontaminating an animal carcass by applying the disclosed compositions onto the surface of the animal carcass to soften and loosen foreign debris attached to the carcass followed by mechanically removing the foreign debris while preserving the integrity and quality of the hide byproduct and resulting leather articles.
FUNCTIONALIZED BIODEGRADABLE SURFACTANTS AND METHODS USE
Novel bio-based surfactant derivatives with enhanced pH stability are provided, as well as their use in various consumer products. Methods of producing these surfactant derivatives are also provided.
AGENT, LIQUID, AND METHOD FOR CLEANING REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE
Provided is an agent and a liquid for cleaning an RO membrane to remove effectively foulants that can not be sufficiently removed with conventional cleaning agents when an RO membrane particularly an aromatic polyamide RO membrane has been used for water treatment and has become fouled resulting in degradation of performance such as permeation flux, pressure difference, and salt rejection rate. The agent for cleaning an RO membrane includes an aliphatic amide and/or an aromatic amide. Also provided is a method for cleaning an RO membrane with the cleaning agent or the cleaning liquid. The aliphatic amide and/or the aromatic amide particularly an aliphatic amide and/or an aromatic amide being soluble in water and having a relatively low molecular weight remove effectively foulants adhered on an aromatic polyamide RO membrane.
Wash water maintenance for sustainable practices
Methods for use of enzymes for sustainable wash water maintenance are disclosed. The invention relates to use of enzymes for removing soils from wash water sources in a variety of cleaning applications. The invention cleans wash water sources, prevents the re-deposition of soils on treated surfaces and enhances detergency. Methods of wash water maintenance according to the invention provide sustainable practices by improving water quality and minimizing water and energy consumption in wash systems.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR REDUCING CAT ALLERGENS IN THE ENVIRONMENT
Formulations, compositions and products for reducing allergenic Fel d 1 from the environment are disclosed. The formulations include at least one protease that interacts with the Fel d 1 and substantially degrades allergenic epitopes on the Fel d 1. Methods of using the formulations for reducing or eliminating allergenic Fel d 1 from the environment are also disclosed.
MINERAL-OIL CLEANING COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR CLEANING ARTICLE HAVING MINERAL OIL ADHERING THERETO USING THE SAME
A mineral-oil cleaning composition contains a compound A, serving as a surfactant, represented by formula (1) below, a compound B, serving as a surfactant, represented by formula (2) below, and water. The mineral-oil cleaning composition has a ratio of a content S1 of the compound A to a sum of the content S1 of the compound A and a content S2 of the compound B (S1/(S1+S2)) of from 0.35 to 0.85 and has a pH of more than 8.0. In formula (1) below, R.sup.1 is an alkyl group of from 12 to 14 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each independently a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group of from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and an arrow between nitrogen and oxygen atoms represents a coordination bond. In formula (2), R.sup.4 is an alkyl group of from 12 to 14 carbon atoms.
