METHODS AND DEVICES FOR CELL BASED ASSAYS
The present invention provides cell assay systems and its use in cell based assays.
BIOCOMPATIBLE DEVICE WITH AN ADSORBED LAYER OF CATIONIC COMB COPOLYMER
The present invention relates to a biocompatible device which comprises on its surface an adsorbed layer of a polymer P which is a copolymer of at least one macromonomer selected from an ester E of (meth)acrylic acid and polyethylene oxide or a polyethylene glycol (meth)acrylamide, at least one monomer M selected from alkyl (meth)acrylate, aryloxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, alkyl (meth)acrylamide or aryl (meth)acrylamide, and at least one cationic monomer C selected from cationic ethylenically unsaturated N-containing monomers. It further relates to a process for making a biocompatible device which comprises on its surface an adsorbed layer of the polymer P comprising the following steps: providing a biocompatible device, and applying to the surface of the biocompatible device a solution S of the polymer Pin a solvent L. It further relates to a solution S comprising the polymer P in the solvent L, where the solvent L comprises an alcohol; and to a process for cultivating cells, comprising the following steps: providing the biocompatible device and cultivating the cells in the supernatant medium above the surface of the biocompatible device.
Method For Capturing And Purification Of Biologics
Methods for the continuous production, capturing and purification of biologics such as recombinant proteins are described. Also described are pharmaceutical compositions comprising such biologics, as well as methods of treatment and uses of such biologics.
BIOREACTOR WITH ENHANCED GAS TRANSFER AND THERMAL REGULATION
An apparatus for culturing cells with enhanced gas transfer and thermal regulation is provided. The apparatus includes a bioreactor with a cell culture bed, such as a fixed structured bed. A pump, such as an agitator, serves to pump liquid through the cell culture bed, and a container is provided for the agitator. A first conduit may be associated with the container, such as by being connected to it or adjacent an opening into it. The bioreactor may also include flow extenders to enhance the gas transfer to a liquid used as media to culture the cells, as well as optional thermoregulators. Related methods are also disclosed.
CATIONIC DENDRIMERS FOR THE CULTURE OF ADHERENT CELLS
The present disclosure concerns a cell or tissue culture system comprising a solid support for the culture of adherent cells or adherent tissues and a plurality of cationic dendrimers associated to the surface of the solid support. Each cationic dendrimer includes one or more functional amine group. The cationic dendrimer is protonated at physiological pH. The cell or tissue culture system can be used for the culture of adherent cells or tissues and be used for the differentiation of stem cells.
Mycomaterial Processing in Liquid Medium
A system and method for making a liquid chemistry treated biopolymer-based fungal mat is described. The method comprises the steps of harvesting a plurality of fresh mycelium material and marking them for identification, then weighing and recording the initial mass of each of the plurality of mycelium material is carried out. A liquid chemical solution using solvent: chemical ratios from 0:100 to 100:0 is prepared. Next, decanting the liquid chemical solution into a vacuum tumbler drum distributed with the mycelium material. Applying vacuum and rotating the vacuum tumbler drum to ensure thorough mixing and refreshing of the liquid chemical solution at the mycelium surface. Vacuuming and rotating the vacuum tumbler drum is repeated and the at least one fungal mat formed is removed from the vacuum tumbler drum. Finally, draining away surface moisture and air drying the at least one fungal mat.
Methods for gas filteration in fluid processing systems
A method for filtering a gas includes passing a gas into a compartment of a casing that includes a polymeric film, the casing having: a first sleeve having a first outlet opening, a first filter being at least partially disposed within the first sleeve so that gas passing through the first sleeve must pass through the first filter; and a second sleeve having an second outlet opening, a second filter being at least partially disposed within the second sleeve so that gas passing through the second sleeve must pass through the second filter, the second sleeve being closed so that the gas passing into the compartment of the casing passes through the first sleeve and the first filter and directly contacts at least a portion of the first sleeve comprised of the polymeric film but does not pass through the second sleeve. Opening the second sleeve when a predetermined condition is met so that the gas passes through the second sleeve and the second filter.
Cell and tissue culture container
The invention generally relates to containers for cell and tissue culturing with multiple compartments in fluid communication with each other to provide a common culture environment in each of the compartments while maintaining physical separation of cells and tissue therein. The invention further relates to culture containers providing a sterile culture environment with detachably coupleable lids and open access to each compartment within a container.
Filter unit for filtering and method for collecting cells in a liquid cell culture medium
A liquid cell culture medium collecting filter unit includes a porous metal membrane that filters out cells in a liquid cell culture medium, a support that holds a peripheral portion of the porous metal membrane. and a tubular member that has a hollow part serving a flow path for a liquid cell culture medium. The tubular member is connected to the support such that the flow path faces at least part of a main surface of the porous metal membrane.
