HYPOTHERMIC 3D BIOPRINTING OF LIVING TISSUES SUPPORTED BY PERFUSABLE VASCULATURE
The present disclosure provides compositions and methods for producing hydrogel matrix constructs. Methods of using hydrogel matrix constructs for tissue repair and regeneration and for the oxygenation of red blood cells are also disclosed.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CLOSED SYSTEM CULTURE OF CARTILAGE TISSUE
The present approach relates to the design and use of a functionally closed bioreactor designed to immobilize, culture, and mature tissue on a loading platform. The bioreactor may be equipped with sensors for tissue monitoring which in conjunction with stiffness data can provide closed-loop control of tissue maturation. Based on a relationship between cartilage stiffness and tissue maturity, measurements of stiffness can be acquired and used as a surrogate for cartilage maturity without the need for destructive tests.
PHOTON ENHANCED BIOLOGICAL SCAFFOLDING
Provided herein are biocompatible scaffolds engineered to convey growth stimulatory light to cells and augment their growth on the scaffolds both in vitro and in vivo. Also provide are methods of modifying biocompatible transparent waveguides to control delivery of light from the waveguide material.
Skin sample culture apparatus
A skin sample culture apparatus which has a base frame, with a skin sample receiving surface upon which at least part of the skin sample may be placed and which extends across an area defined by the shape of the frame. A securing member which is releasably connectable to the base frame and a grip which holds the skin sample under tension. The apparatus may include a tensioner to hold the sample under tension and means for introducing a fluid to the upper or lower surface of the sample.
ADHERENT STROMAL CELLS DERIVED FROM PLACENTAS OF MULTIPLE DONORS AND USES THEREOF
Pharmaceutical compositions comprising adherent stromal cells (ASCs) are provided. The ASCs are obtained from at least two donors. Articles of manufacture comprising the pharmaceutical compositions together with a delivery device for administering the ASCs to a subject are also provided. Also provided are methods of treating various diseases and conditions that are treatable by administering ASCs to a subject in need of treatment.
Device for laser printing biological components
A method for printing uses at least one bio-ink. The method also uses at least one laser print head to deposit at least one droplet of at least one bio-ink onto a depositing surface of a receiving substrate. The printing method uses at least one nozzle print head to deposit at least one droplet of at least one bio-ink onto a depositing surface of the same receiving substrate as the laser print head.
SOMATIC STEM CELL-ACCUMULATED TISSUE CONSTRUCT AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
This invention relates to a tissue construct comprising a core portion having a recess and composed of fibrous connective tissue, and loose fibrous somatic stem cell-accumulated tissue comprising type III collagen and somatic stem cells which is formed in the recess; a device for producing the same; and a method for collecting somatic stem cells from the tissue construct.
LUNG BIOREACTOR
Presented is an airway organ bioreactor apparatus, and methods of use thereof, as well as bioartificial airway organs produced using the methods, and methods of treating subjects using the bioartificial airway organs. The bioreactor comprises: an organ chamber: an ingres line connecting the organ chamber and a reservoir system and comprising an arterial line, a venous line and a tracheal line; an egress line connecting the chamber and the reservoir system, pumps in ingress and egress lines; a controller to control fluid exchange; a chamber pressure sensor connected to the organ chamber.
ULTRASONIC DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
Ultrasonic devices comprise a housing comprising an ultrasonic surface, an ultrasonic transducer, and an ultrasonic horn to provide and focus energy from the ultrasonic transducer to the ultrasonic surface. Methods of removing trapped air bubbles from a cell culture container comprise positioning a cell culture container comprising air bubbles trapped in liquid within microcavity wells of the cell culture container at an ultrasonic surface of an ultrasonic device. Mechanical agitation is generated by the ultrasonic device and applied to the cell culture container to remove the trapped air bubbles from the microcavity wells. Methods of releasing cell aggregates from a cell culture container comprising positioning a cell culture container comprising cell aggregates in microcavity wells at an ultrasonic surface of an ultrasonic device. The cell aggregates are released from the microcavity wells by applying mechanical agitation from the ultrasonic device to a surface of the cell culture container.
Methods and Apparatuses for Patient-Derived Micro-Organospheres
Micro-Organospheres, including Patient-Derived Micro-Organospheres (PMOSs), apparatuses and methods of making them, and apparatuses and methods of using them. Also described herein are methods and systems for screening a patient using these Patient-Derived Micro-Organospheres, including personalized therapies.
