Methods and apparatus for processing fluids
A method for processing a fluid includes removably securing a retention member to a vessel that bounds a chamber; inserting a collapsible bag within the chamber of the vessel; securing the bag to the retention member so that the bag is supported within the chamber of the vessel; and dispensing a fluid into a compartment of the collapsible bag supported within the chamber of the vessel. The fluid can be mixed within bag while the bag is disposed within the vessel.
CONTAINER WITH EMBEDDED STRUCTURE
A container with an embedded structure mainly includes: a first plate with a first plate body, a first end surface located on one side of the first plate body; a second plate with a second plate body, a second end surface opposite to the first end surface and located on one side of the second plate body, a flexible protrusion is annularly protruded on the second end surface and abuts against the first plate to form an accommodating space between the first end surface, the second end surface, and the protrusion for a fluid to flow in the accommodating space, and the accommodating space has an accommodating height between the first end surface and the second end surface; and a shape of a portion of a free end of the protrusion abutting the first end surface is deformed.
Systems and methods for a collapsible chamber with foldable mixing element
The present set of embodiments relate to a system, method, and apparatus for culturing cells within a cell culture vessel having a mixing element. The cell culture system includes a flexible portion and a mixing element disposed therein. The mixing element includes a suspended foldable portion. The system is configured to reduce shear stress on cells without compromising mixing efficiency. This reduction is accomplished by using a mixing element having a large surface area allowing for reduced rotational speeds. The system is collapsible for ease of transport and disposal. The flexible portion collapses and the foldable portion folds to minimize the volume of the system while not in operation.
All-in-one bioreactor for therapeutic cells manufacturing
Methods and apparatus of bioreactors for therapeutic cells manufacturing are provided herein. In some embodiments, a bioreactor includes: an upper bioreactor reservoir configured to perform multiple cell therapy manufacturing process steps including genetic modification and expansion to a plurality of cells disposed therein, wherein the upper bioreactor reservoir includes a plurality of ports for delivering fluids into and out of the upper bioreactor reservoir; a lower bioreactor compartment configured to hold a suspension comprising a molecular species; and a membrane disposed between the lower bioreactor compartment and the upper bioreactor reservoir, wherein the membrane includes a plurality of micro-straws extending through the membrane and into the upper bioreactor reservoir to transfect the plurality of cells with the molecular species.
Methods and apparatus for gas stream mass transfer with a liquid
A system for performing a gas-liquid mass transfer includes a container bounding a compartment and having a top wall, a bottom wall, and an encircling sidewall extending therebetween. A tube has a first end and an opposing second end, the first end of the tube being disposed within the compartment of the container. A nozzle is disposed within the compartment of the container and has at least one outlet, the nozzle being coupled with the tube so that a gas can be passed through the tube and out the at least one outlet of the nozzle. The nozzle is sufficiently buoyant so that when a fluid is disposed within the compartment of the container, the nozzle floats on the fluid.
FLUID MIXING SYSTEMS WITH ADJUSTABLE MIXING ELEMENT
A fluid mixing system includes a support housing having an interior surface bounding a chamber. A flexible bag is disposed within the chamber of the support housing, the flexible bag having an interior surface bounding a compartment. An impeller is disposed within the chamber of the flexible bag. A drive shaft is coupled with the impeller such that rotation of the drive shaft facilitates rotation of the impeller. A drive motor assembly is coupled with the draft shaft and is adapted to rotate the drive shaft. An adjustable arm assembly is coupled with the drive motor assembly and is adapted to move the drive motor assembly which in turn moves the position of the drive shaft and impeller. An electrical controller can control movement of the adjustable arm.
PLATFORMS AND SYSTEMS FOR AUTOMATED CELL CULTURE
Disclosed herein are platforms, systems, and methods including a cell culture system that includes a cell culture container comprising a cell culture, the cell culture receiving input cells, a cell imaging subsystem configured to acquire images of the cell culture, a computing subsystem configured to perform a cell culture process on the cell culture according to the images acquired by the cell imaging subsystem, and a cell editing subsystem configured to edit the cell culture to produce output cell products according to the cell culture process.
HOUSING FOR HOLDING A FLEXIBLE BIOPROCESS BAG AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING THE BAG IN THE HOUSING
A support housing for a flexible bioprocess bag, the housing comprising at least one side wall having a first segment and a second segment, the first segment movable in relation to the second segment between an open and a closed position, wherein at least a supporting part of the housing is translatable from an operating position to a bag loading position, wherein the supporting part comprises one or more retainers for holding the flexible bioprocess bag upon re-translation of the supporting part to the operating position and movement of the first segment to the closed position, and wherein the first segment comprises a first drive unit for connecting and driving a first mixing unit in the flexible bioprocess bag.
