The personal laboratory apparatus can be sold as a kit with a wetware kit that includes laboratory hardware and ingredients for performing a genetic-engineering experiment. The wetware kit includes a plurality of test tubes and a pre-measured volume or mass of a plurality of materials, each pre-measured volume or mass disposed in a corresponding test tube.
Media tray system
A media tray system may include a tray having a base wall and a perimeter wall extending upwardly from the base wall and having an upper edge. The system may also include a cover having a top wall and a side wall extending downwardly from the top wall to extend about the perimeter wall of the tray when the cover is in a closed condition with respect to the tray, with the side wall having a lower edge. The system may further include a cover support structure located at the first end of the tray and the first end of the first end of the cover. The cover support structure may be configured to support the cover in an access condition permitting access to the tray interior of the tray through a gap formed between an upper edge of the tray and the lower edge of the cover.
HEPATOCYTE CULTURE DEVICE CAPABLE OF ENHANCING ACCUMULATION AND EXCRETION OF HEPATIC METABOLITE IN AND INTO BILE CANALICULUS-LIKE STRUCTURE, AND METHOD FOR EVALUATING CANDIDATE COMPOUND SENSITIVE TO EXCRETION INTO BILE OR BLOOD AND HEPATIC METABOLITE OF SAID CANDIDATE COMPOUND USING SAID HEPATOCYTE CULTURE DEVICE
The present invention is a hepatocyte culture device enhancing accumulation and excretion of a hepatic metabolite in and into a bile canaliculus-like structure, the device including: a first cell culture containing a plurality of hepatocytes; a portable culture vessel in which the bile canaliculus-like structure can be established between the hepatocytes in the first cell culture, and that has, on an outer surface of the culture vessel, a membrane through which a physiologically active substance can pass; and a second cell culture capable of improving excretion activity of a hepatic metabolite in the first cell culture, in which the first cell culture cultured in the portable culture vessel is disposed on the second cell culture to be co-cultured.
Cell culture transferring instrument
A cell culture transferring instrument includes a cylindrical body held by an operator not shown in the drawing, a plunger inserted through the interior of the cylindrical body, a plurality of support members connected to a distal end of the plunger, and an adsorbent capable of adsorbing a sheet-shaped cell culture held by the support members. The support members in contact with the distal end of the cylindrical body are elastically deformed by displacing the plunger toward the proximal end side with respect to the cylindrical body in a state in which the sheet-shaped cell culture is adsorbed to the adsorbent, whereby the adsorbent and the sheet-shaped cell culture are deformed and housed in a housing hole in the cylindrical body.
SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CELLS AND/OR CELL PRODUCTS
The present invention provides a system and a method for the production of cells and/or cell products. The system comprises at least one cell culture unit comprising at least one bioreactor for culturing cells, at least one technical control unit for controlling a cell growth parameters, said technical control unit is at least fluidly connected to the cell culture unit, and at least one air treatment unit for treating ambient air, said air treatment unit is fluidly connected to the cell culture unit. The system is characterized in that the system is autonomous and the bioreactor total volume is at most 1000 L.
CELL CULTURE SYSTEM WITH CONTROLLED GAS TRANSFER BOUNDARY CONDITIONS
Apparatus and associated methods relate to cell culture systems having controlled gas concentration boundary conditions around cell culture. In an illustrative example, a programmable cell culture system (PCCS) may include one or more manifolds, each releasably coupled to multiple cell culture modules. The cell culture modules, for example, may include a nutrient capacitive medium (NCM) in fluid communication with a concentration-controlled gas source through at least two gas transfer interfaces. The gas transfer interfaces (GTIs) may, for example, be spatially distributed in relation to a cell growth surface in the NCM. Each GTI, for example, may include a gas permeable membrane (GPM) and a plenum. The GPM may be disposed between the plenum and the NCM. Various embodiments may advantageously selectively control a concentration of at least one target gas in the NCM by maintaining predetermined boundary conditions of the cell growth surface via the GTIs.
Device and Method for Bacterial Culture and Assay
The present invention provides a simple culture device that is designed for manufacture and use in areas of limited resources. The device is useful for cell culture in such environments with limited resources because cells grow in paper just as they do in a culture dish. Also provided is a binding assay that employs an activatable dormant bacteriophage carrying a reporter gene to qualitatively or quantitatively detect the presence of a substance of interest in a sample.
Lightweight assemblable appliance and respective method for production of biogas and liquid fertilizer
A system and method of recycling organic waste into biogas, implementing an anaerobic digestion processes, is disclosed. The system includes structural scaffolding and a pliable collapsible anaerobic digester. The aerobic digester includes at least one suspension tab, rendering the anaerobic digester suspendable from the structural scaffolding. A respective kit-of-parts is disclosed for assembling the aforementioned system.
Multifunctional Petri Dish
The present invention discloses a multifunctional Petri dish with two sealing structures to ensure that the water in the medium will not evaporate during continuous culture, further affecting cultured living material growth and development. In addition to alcohol spray, the multifunctional Petri dish allows the application of acids, alkalis, alcohols, peroxides solution, or peroxides gas to immerse the multi-purpose Petri dish to remove bacteria or viruses. Various accessory devices can meet all requirements for a living culture of cells and tissues that the existing Petri dishes cannot provide. Using the dish cover operator and the dish container operator is essential to ensure that the researcher's hands will not directly touch the Petri dish in the sterile operating bench, thereby blocking all potential contamination of the medium and culture by foreign organisms. The labeling and labeling reading recorder with the multifunctional Petri dish provides more convenient and accurate electronic data establishment and reading for in vitro culture.
