METHOD FOR MEMBRANE GAS TRANSFER IN HIGH DENSITY BIOREACTOR CULTURE
The present invention provides improved bioprocessing systems and methods for cell culture using the improved bioreactors, e.g., batch-fed or perfusion bioreactor cell culture systems for production of monoclonal or bi-specific antibodies, which are modified to include one or more membrane gas transfer modules in place of a sparger- or microsparger-based aeration systems to better regulate the levels of critical gases in a bioreactor cell culture, e.g., the dissolved levels of O2 and CO2, even at high cell densities, without subjecting the cells to bubble-burst associated cell death.
CARBON CAPTURE IN FERMENTATION
The disclosure relates to methods of capturing carbon by microbial fermentation of a gaseous substrate comprising CO into one or more first products which, in turn, may be incorporated into an article of manufacture or one or more second products. Further, the disclosure relates to improving carbon capture and/or efficiency.
PACKED-BED BIOREACTOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
A packed-bed bioreactor system for culturing cells is provided, the system including a cell culture vessel having at least one interior reservoir, an inlet fluidly connected to the reservoir, and an outlet fluidly connected to the reservoir; and a cell culture matrix disposed in the reservoir. The cell culture matrix includes a structurally defined multi-layered substrate for adhering cells thereto, and each layer of the multi-layered substrate has a physical structure and a porosity that are substantially regular and uniform.
FIXED BED BIOREACTOR AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
A fixed-bed bioreactor system is provided that includes a vessel with a media inlet, a media outlet, and an interior cavity disposed between and in fluid communication with the media inlet and media outlet. The vessel further includes a cell culture substrate disposed in the interior cavity between the media inlet and the media outlet in a packed-bed configuration, the cell culture substrate including a plurality of porous disks in a stacked arrangement. The interior cavity includes a cell culture section and a spacer section, the cell culture substrate defining the cell culture section and the spacer section being disposed between the cell culture section and the media outlet, and each of the plurality of porous disks has a surface configured to culture cells thereon.
CELL CULTURE VESSEL AND METHOD FOR CULTURING CELL
A cell culture vessel comprising a housing in which a culture chamber is provided. In the housing, at least two holes that connect the outside of the housing and a culture chamber are provided.
INCUBATOR WITH A MAGNETICALLY-QUIET INCUBATOR CHAMBER AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING
An incubator system includes an incubator unit including incubator chamber defined by chamber walls formed of a non-magnetic material; a control unit physically separated from the incubator unit and including operational controls for operation of the incubator system; and at least one duct coupling the incubator unit to the control unit, wherein the incubator system is configured so that the incubator chamber experiences a magnetic field variation of no more than 100 nT arising from the incubator system during incubation operation of the incubation system.
CULTURE SYSTEM, CULTURE DEVICE, AND MULTI-LAYER CULTURE VESSEL MANIPULATION DEVICE
A culture system and a culture device each can minimize the burden on workers and can effectively prevent the effect of temperature changes on culture by performing manipulation of a multilayer culture vessel and the culture in sequence in the same space. The culture system comprises a housing with an internal space in which a multilayer culture vessel including a plurality of trays therein is placed, and a manipulator manipulating the multilayer culture vessel while the multilayer culture vessel is kept in a state placed within the internal space. The multilayer culture vessel is communicated with a liquid supply tube such that a fluid material can be introduced into the multilayer culture vessel from an outside of the housing via the liquid supply tube, or that a fluid can be discharged from the multilayer culture vessel to the outside of the housing via the liquid supply tube.
FLEXIBLE BAG
A flexible bioprocess bag comprising a number of flexible panels which are sealed to each other such that when the bag is filled they form at least a bottom of the bag and a side surface of the bag, wherein one of the flexible panels is called a bottom panel and when the bag is filled said bottom panel will constitute the bottom of the bag and parts of the side surface of the bag, said parts of the side surface being bent side parts of the bottom panel.
MINIATURIZED CENTRIFUGAL BIOREACTOR AND ROTOR SYSTEM
A centrifugal bioreactor includes a turntable assembly, an electric motor coupled to the turntable assembly, and a replaceable rotor assembly coupled to the turntable assembly. The replaceable rotor assembly includes a plurality of reaction chambers that house cell cultures. A fresh medium tank holds fresh medium for the cell cultures, a spent medium tank holds a first portion of spent medium produced by the cell cultures, and an inoculation tank combines the fresh medium from the fresh medium tank and a second portion of the spent medium. A gas exchanger exposes the fresh medium and the second portion of the spent medium to gas. Additionally, a first pump supplies the fresh medium and the second portion of the spent medium to the plurality of the reaction chambers, and a second pump discard the first portion of the spent medium to the spent medium tank.
