Microfluidic devices for optically-driven convection and displacement, kits and methods thereof
Apparatuses and methods are described for the use of optically driven bubble, convective and displacing fluidic flow to provide motive force in microfluidic devices. Alternative motive modalities are useful to selectively dislodge and displace micro-objects, including biological cells, from a variety of locations within the enclosure of a microfluidic device.
Hanging drop device, formation method of hanging drop and cell culture method by using hanging drop
A hanging drop device is provided in the present disclosure. The hanging drop device includes a hanging drop box and a negative pressure module. The hanging drop box includes a plate and a cover. The cover is coupled with the plate to jointly delimit a pressure chamber. The cover includes an upper surface and a bottom surface, a plurality of wells are recessed from the upper surface, and each of the wells is communicated with the pressure chamber through a hole. The negative pressure module is communicated with the pressure chamber. Each of the wells is for containing a liquid, the negative pressure module is for generating a negative pressure in the pressure chamber, so as to drive the liquid in each of the wells to pass through the hole, and the liquid forms a hanging drop hanging from the bottom surface of the cover.
Systems and methods for improved performance of fluidic and microfluidic systems
Systems and methods for improved flow properties in fluidic and microfluidic systems are disclosed. The system includes a microfluidic device having a first microchannel, a fluid reservoir having a working fluid and a pressurized gas, a pump in communication with the fluid reservoir to maintain a desired pressure of the pressurized gas, and a fluid-resistance element located within a fluid path between the fluid reservoir and the first microchannel. The fluid-resistance element includes a first fluidic resistance that is substantially larger than a second fluidic resistance associated with the first microchannel.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CELL CULTURING
Cell culture systems and methods provide improved immunotherapeutic product manufacturing with greater scalability, flexibility, and automation. Cell culture systems are configured with interchangeable cartridges, allowing versatility and scalability. Systems are configured to have multiple connected cell culture chambers, which allows parallel processing of different types of cells. Gas-impermeable cell culture chambers and methods for generating cells in closed systems prevent contamination and user error. Methods for recycling cell culture medium provide additional efficiencies.
