METASTABLE STATE MIXING
Metastable state spore incubation mixing systems are described. An example system includes a spore container to store spores, a nutrient container, an arrangement of valves and tubes, a reciprocating pump, a mixing tube, and a holding tank. In a drawing phase of the system, a controller can control the reciprocating pump to draw a ratioed volume of the spores, the nutrients, and water through the valves and tubes. During an expelling phase of the system, the controller can control flow control valves to direct the spores, nutrients, and water through the mixing tube and into the holding tank. The controller can also direct a heater to heat the mixture in the holding tank to a predetermined temperature. Once the mixture reaches the temperature, the controller can also direct the system through a number of other phases of operation, including cooling and purging phases.
SYSTEM FOR HYPOTHERMIC TRANSPORT OF SAMPLES
A system for the hypothermic transport of biological samples, such as tissues, organs, or body fluids. The system includes a self-purging preservation apparatus to suspend a sample in preservation fluid and perfuse a tissue with preservation fluid. The self-purging preservation apparatus is placed in an insulated transport container having a cooling medium. When assembled, the system allows for transport of biological samples for extended periods of time at a stable temperature.
MEDICAL APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COLLECTION AND PREPARATION OF BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES
A medical apparatus is provided including an elongated body and defining a loading chamber between a proximal end and a distal end thereof for storing a liquid therein, the elongated body defining an outlet at the distal end thereof; a cell block filter assembly including a cell block body and defining a well portion matingly engageable with the distal end of the elongated body for receiving fluid from the outlet of the elongated body and defining a well opening on a bottom thereof; a filter membrane disposed across the well opening on the bottom of the well portion; and a cover member positionable over the well portion wherein the entire cell block filter assembly is sliceable into slices having a thickness suitable for mounting on a laboratory slide.
MOTILE CELL SORTING DEVICE
[Problem to be Solved] Provided is a motile cell sorting device that can effectively sort motile cells, such as sperms, having excellent motility and morphology by performing image analysis when animal cells are sorted. [Means for Solution] The motile cell sorting device 1 comprises a storage unit 3, a first introduction unit (cell injection channel) 5, a first introduction control unit 7, a first holding unit (cell capture area) 9, a first derivation unit (cell collection channel) 11, a first derivation control unit 13, a collection unit (liquid storage) 15, a photographing unit 17, and a first controller 19.
System and method for paper-based cryopreservation
A system and method for cryopreservation of cells or spheroids of cells including obtaining a suspension of the isolated mammalian cells in a medium; applying the suspension to a fibrous substrate comprising a network of interconnected cellulosic fibers defining a plurality of pores therein and allowing the suspension to absorb into the fibrous substrate such that the isolated mammalian cells penetrate and settle to an interior of the fibrous substrate; and cooling the fibrous substrate to or below a temperature of −80° C.
GEL TRAY FOR BACTERIA TRANSFORMATION LAB
A gel tray for a bacterial transformation lab exercise has a plastic body with four parallel gel channels and four filling ports, one for each channel into which unmodified bacteria and heat-shocked bacteria can be injected by students along with appropriate reaction constituents to demonstrate transformation of the bacteria under visualization. A seal may be provided to seal the tops of the gel channels and a lid can cover the gel tray during incubation.
SPECIMEN COLLECTION FOR MICROBIAL BURDEN CLASSIFICATION AND SPECIMEN TRANSPORTATION TO LAB FOR REPORTING DIRECT-FROM-SPECIMEN ID AND AST
The disclosure relates to methods and systems for biological assays and assay transport systems.
Set for transporting culture container and unit for transporting cell or biological tissue
A culture container transportation set suitable for cultured state-maintaining transportation is provided. A culture container transportation set A1 includes: a culture container 13 including a vessel 13 made up of a bottom wall 11 and a tubular side wall 12 rising from the bottom wall 11; a flexible cover 2 covering an upper edge portion 121 of the side wall 12; a hard pressing member 3 provided on the cover 2; a cushioning material 4 of shape restorability; and a housing container 6 that houses the culture container 1, the cover 2, the pressing member 3 and the cushioning material 4 in an assembled state in which these components are stacked while pressing these components from above and below. The cushioning material 4 is provided between the housing container 6 and the culture container 1 or between the pressing member 3 and the housing container 6.
DEVICES, METHODS, AND KITS FOR PREPARING A CELL SUSPENSION
In some embodiments, a kit for preparing a cell suspension may include a device and a housing. The device may include a first label identifying a first reservoir of the device for use with a first portion of a tissue processing method and a second label identifying a second reservoir of the device for use with a second portion of the tissue processing method. The housing includes a first housing portion configured to store a first set of components associated with the first portion of the tissue processing method. The first housing portion includes a first visual indicator associated with the first label of the device. The second housing portion may be configured to store a second set of components associated with the second portion of the tissue processing method. The second housing portion may include a second visual indicator associated with the second label of the device.
