A case for an eyewear device includes a body defining an opening leading to a storage chamber that is sized for retaining the eyewear device. A cover depends from the body and is movable between an open position, in which the opening is exposed, and a closed position, in which the opening is covered by the cover. A battery is mounted to the body for charging the eyewear device. A detector is positioned on either the body or the cover for detecting when the cover is in the open position or the closed position. A display displays a charge state of the battery when the cover is in the open position.

A container device that has an outer shell with an opening that is sealed by a closure mechanism. The closure mechanism can include magnetic strips that are configured to partially or wholly seal the opening.

An article includes a zipper cover (14, 114) configured to conceal a zipper tape (18, 118) that is secured at a mouth of a zippered opening in a surface of the article and to longitudinally extend substantially parallel to the zipper tape. The zipper cover (14, 114) is attached to the surface of the article (10, 110) and is rotatable between a first orientation in which the zipper cover (14, 114) conceals the zipper tape (18, 118) and a second orientation in which the zipper cover exposes the zipper tape (18, 118) and allows a user to access the zippered opening. The zipper cover (14, 114) is magnetically securable to a surface (32, 132) of the zippered opening in the first orientation, and the zipper cover (14, 114) is magnetically securable against the surface (20, 120) of the article in the second orientation.

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a pair of magnetic mating buckles including a first buckle (205) and second buckle (210), the first buckle extending beyond the second buckle's outer perimeter forming an extended lip. In an illustrative example, the lip may be manually manipulated to separate the first buckle from the second buckle when the pair of magnetic mating buckles are in a substantially planar magnetic engagement. In some examples, one or more magnets may be fixedly coupled to the first buckle, and/or the second buckle. In some examples, the buckles may be coupled to various webbings. In an engagement example, the first buckle may be inserted through a coupling aperture (215) in the second buckle. The coupling aperture may include one or more corner notches, for example. Various pairs of magnetic mating buckles with overhanging lips may advantageously provide leverage to manually separate the buckles without tools.

A charger for attachment to a mobile device. A housing with a device side surface contains a wireless charger including at least one coil. A first arrangement of magnetic material has a first region exposing a first polarity magnetic field at the device side surface and a second immediately adjacent region exposing an opposite polarity magnetic field at the device side surface. In use, the arrangement magnetically couples the housing to a mobile device and causes the housing to adopt a specific axial orientation on the mobile device thereby assuring substantial axial alignment of the at least one coil with a corresponding coil associated with the mobile device.

The portable containers can stay substantially clean due to a water-resistant coating. The portable container can include a bottom opening zipper for hands-free gravity enabled disposal of trash and waste held within the portable container.

A case for a mobile device includes a flexible covering defining a cavity for receiving and holding the mobile device; a rigid frame at least partially disposed within the flexible covering; and an adapter disposed at least partially within the rigid frame and the flexible covering, the adapter including first contacts, a male plug extending into the cavity, and second contacts disposed on the male plug and electrically coupled to the first contacts; where the adapter, in combination with at least one of the flexible covering or the rigid frame, defines a first male structure extending away from the cavity, where the first contacts of the adapter are disposed on the first male structure. Another case includes at least the flexible covering and adapter and also includes a female connector electrically coupled to the second contacts and having an opening disposed on the first male structure.

A mechanical wallet or cardholder can be opened using one hand by sliding a top or second plate along rails parallel to a bottom or first plate. A card arm forces cards in the cardholder (i.e., located between the first and second plates) out a second end of the cardholder in a fanned or stepped fashion. A magnet in the card arm and in a first end of the frame (opposite the second end of the cardholder and frame) cooperate to return and retain the card arm and first plate in the closed position. A card lock at the second end of the frame retains cards in the cardholder when the cardholder is in the closed position and allows the cards to be pushed from the second end of the cardholder by the card arm when the second plate is moved to the open position.

Systems and methods are provided for attaching and positioning a personal computing device case to a folio. The folio includes magnetic connections, and the personal computing device case includes magnetic connections for attaching the case to the folio in any one of a plurality of positions. The magnetic connections of the folio include an upper magnet array and a lower magnet array for attachment of the magnetic case. The folio includes a hinge mechanism at a top edge of each of two sides of the folio. The case is attached to the folio using guided magnetic seating, and the case is repositionable by slidingly or rotationally changing the position of the case relative to the folio.

Carrying devices, such as shoulder bags, have a carrying body defining an interior storage compartment having an access opening thereto and a pair of shoulder straps. Each individual strap of the pair of shoulder straps has a first textile layer fixedly attached to a second textile layer with a magnet enclosed therebetween at a position proximate or at a central transverse plane. The polarity of the magnet in a first individual strap and the polarity of the magnet in a second individual strap are oriented with the same polarity facing a top surface thereof, thereby the first strap is magnetically attractable to the second strap with a bottom surface of the first strap in direct contact with a top surface of the second strap or with a bottom surface of the second strap in direct contact with a top surface of the first strap.
