The technology provides for an extension member configured to direct a magnetic field from a magnet to a Hall Effect sensor to facilitate detection of magnetic field. By varying the dimensions of the extension member, which may be any arbitrary shape, the relative positions of the magnet and the Hall Effect sensor may be less constrained by the reach of the magnetic field of the magnet, thereby allowing more design possibilities. The extension member may be used in a case, where the extension member may facilitate detection of whether the case is open or closed, the extension member may further provide magnetic attraction to keep the case closed.

When the inserting head is close to an insertion hole of the buckle main body, the magnetic attraction force between a first component on the inserting head and a second component on the buckle main body can assist with inserting the inserting head into the insertion hole. After the inserting head is inserted to a predetermined position, the magnetic attraction force will keep the buckle main body in an engaged state even without any additional fixing means. When the buckle main body is switched to a disengaged state and the inserting head is moved out of the buckle main body, the magnetic attraction force attracts the inserting head to attach to the buckle main body, and thereby, after moved out, the inserting head cannot move arbitrarily.

An elongated magnetic fastener (36) may run along the seam. The magnetic fastener may have first (38) and second (40) portions on opposing sides of the seam. The first and second portions may include magnets. When the magnetic fastener is operated in a closed state, the magnets in the first and second portions attract each other and pull the first and second portions of the fastener together to close the seam. When the magnetic fastener is operated in an open state, the magnets in the first and second portions repel each other and push the first and second portions of the fastener apart to open the seam.
