Certain exemplary embodiments can provide a system, machine, device, and/or manufacture configured or adapted for, and/or a method for, activities that can comprise and/or relate to a burn guard system configured or adapted to operably prevent burns to the skin of a user of a heated hair curling iron.

HANDLE FOR HAIR STYLING TOOL WITH REPLACEABLE SPRING
20230109480 · 2023-04-06 ·

A hair styling tool or curling iron includes a handle portion and a styling portion. The handle portion houses a torsion spring. The styling portion includes a hair engaging member adapted to be biased toward the styling portion by the torsion spring. A spring door is releasably and/or removably connected to the handle portion and is configured to cover and at least partially secure the torsion spring within the handle portion. The torsion spring is not mechanically connected to the handle portion so that releasing and/or removing of the spring door from the handle portion allows for removal and replacement of the torsion spring.

POWER CONTROL FOR HAIR IRON HAVING CERAMIC HEATERS

A hair iron includes two longitudinally extending arms each having a ceramic heater. Users place hair between the heaters during use. A controller coordinates timing and voltage conditions to heat the heaters to avoid light flicker and power harmonics. Thermistors provide current heater temperatures of the heaters and a controller calculates a desired heating power. The heating power includes application to the heaters of various half-cycles of AC power from an external AC line voltage.

A hair iron includes two longitudinally extending arms each having a ceramic heater. Users place hair between the heaters during use. A controller coordinates heating conditions of the heaters. If a line voltage supplied to the hair iron is a high voltage, the controller is configured to alternate heating between the heaters whereby only heating of one heater occurs at one time. To reduce flicker and harmonics, the controller supplies heating current so that one heater remains off for consecutive half-cycles of alternating current while the other heater is powered on variously. The controller then switches the heating. The hair iron further includes a line voltage detector to detect whether a line voltage supplied through a cord to the hair iron is either low voltage or high voltage. During such time, the controller limits heating power to the two heaters.

Disclosed herein is a hair curling iron. The hair curling iron of the present invention includes an iron body. The iron body has a heating body having a tapered triangular shape with a triangular cross-section, and a handle which is coupled to an end of the heating body. In the current invention, the triangular heating body provides new types of hair curls as a result of the tapered triangular shape.

HAIR CARE APPLIANCE

A hair care appliance is provided. The hair care appliance includes a handle and a body coupled to the handle via a rotational hinge joint. The body can be movable via the rotational hinge joint between a straight configuration in which the body is aligned with a longitudinal axis of the handle and a bent configuration in which the body extends along an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the handle. A fluid flow path extends between an inlet in the handle and an outlet in the body. The hair care appliance can be operated with minimal loss of fluid flow in either the straight configuration and the bent configuration. The hair care appliance includes a fan assembly in the handle and a heater assembly in the body that are positioned to create a balanced center of mass of the hair care appliance when operated by a user.
