Certain exemplary embodiments can provide a system, machine, device, and/or manufacture configured or adapted for, and/or a method for, activities that can comprise and/or relate to a burn guard system configured or adapted to operably prevent burns to the skin of a user of a heated hair curling iron.

A hair styling tool or curling iron includes a handle portion and a styling portion. The handle portion houses a torsion spring. The styling portion includes a hair engaging member adapted to be biased toward the styling portion by the torsion spring. A spring door is releasably and/or removably connected to the handle portion and is configured to cover and at least partially secure the torsion spring within the handle portion. The torsion spring is not mechanically connected to the handle portion so that releasing and/or removing of the spring door from the handle portion allows for removal and replacement of the torsion spring.

A controller coordinates timing and voltage conditions to heat the heaters to avoid light flicker and power harmonics. Disclosed herein is a hair curling iron. The hair curling iron of the present invention includes an iron body. The iron body has a heating body having a tapered triangular shape with a triangular cross-section, and a handle which is coupled to an end of the heating body. In the current invention, the triangular heating body provides new types of hair curls as a result of the tapered triangular shape.

A hair care appliance is provided. The hair care appliance includes a handle and a body coupled to the handle via a rotational hinge joint. The body can be movable via the rotational hinge joint between a straight configuration in which the body is aligned with a longitudinal axis of the handle and a bent configuration in which the body extends along an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis of the handle. The invention also relates to an assembly (11, 24, 26) intended for dyeing or lightening keratin fibres, in particular human keratin fibres such as the hair, comprising at least one aqueous composition and at least one hand-held styling device (1) as defined above.
