Transgenic maize plant exhibiting increased yield and drought tolerance

The present invention is directed to a transgenic maize plant or a part thereof comprising as transgene a nucleic acid capable of expressing a cell wall invertase or a functional part thereof, preferably a Chenopodium rubrum cell wall invertase or a functional part thereof, wherein as a result of the expression of the cell wall invertase or a functional part thereof the transgenic maize plant exhibits an enhanced tolerance to abiotic stress and/or an increased yield, to a method of producing such transgenic maize plant, to method of enhancing the tolerance to abiotic stress of a maize plant and/or of increasing yield potential of a maize plant, to a nucleic acid capable of expressing a cell wall invertase or a functional part thereof, preferably a Chenopodium rubrum cell wall invertase or a functional part thereof, to a vector comprising such nucleic acid, the use of the nucleic acid or vector for enhancing the tolerance to abiotic stress of a maize plant, for increasing yield potential of a maize plant and/or for protecting a maize plant against abiotic stress, and to a method for production of ethanol or methane from transgenic maize plant or a part thereof of the invention.

Host cells and methods for producing alkyl lactone by cyclization of hydroxyl fatty acid

This present invention provides for a genetically modified host cell, or a cell-free reaction system, and related methods and materials for the biocatalytic production of an alkyl lactones from a hydroxy fatty acid, or natural alkyl lactones and esters from sugars using non-natural combinations of enzymes.

Organisms and biosynthetic processes for hydrocarbon synthesis

Methods for biosynthesising hydrocarbons from a gaseous substrate in non-naturally occurring acetogens as well as non-naturally occurring acetogens for production of hydrocarbons are provided.

PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING BIOFUELS WITH REDUCED CARBON INTENSITY
20230053930 · 2023-02-23 ·

A process and/or system for producing one or more biofuels, wherein biogas (e.g., partially purified biogas produced by removing water, hydrogen sulfide and/or carbon dioxide from raw biogas) is transported by vehicle in one or mobile vessels. De-pressurization of the mobile vessels provides a change in pressure that can be used to provide work, cooling, and/or increased pressure for the production process. Combustion of the biogas produces heat and/or power used to reduce a carbon intensity of the biofuel or biofuel intermediate.

METHOD FOR MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE RECLAMATION

The present invention relates to a method for municipal solid waste (MSW) reclamation in a continuous or discontinuous process first for converting said waste into organic biomass and subsequently extracting and recovering the most chemical compounds contained in said biomass possible, such as triglycerides, sugars and proteins. Therefore, the invention is comprised in the field of recycling, transforming solid waste into reusable solids and biofuels.

Degradation pathway for pentose and hexose sugars

The present application relates to recombinant microorganisms useful in the biosynthesis of monoethylene glycol (MEG) or glycolic acid (GA), or MEG and one or more co-product, from one or more pentose and/or hexose sugars. Also provided are methods of producing MEG (or GA), or MEG (or GA) and one or more co-product, from one or more pentose and/or hexose sugars using the recombinant microorganisms, as well as compositions comprising the recombinant microorganisms and/or the products MEG (or GA), or MEG and one or more co-product.

System and method for improved anaerobic digestion
11492280 · 2022-11-08 · ·

A method for improved anaerobic digestion is presented. The method includes mixing a volume of waste material with water to form a feedstock mixture. The volume of waste material includes an initial amount of biomass and the feedstock mixture includes methanogenic bacteria either naturally present in the waste material or introduced artificially. The method also includes introducing one or more promoter substances to the feedstock mixture. The one or more promoter substances are capable of modifying the methanogenic bacteria. Modifying includes stimulating novel enzyme production in the methanogenic bacteria.

METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF A SOIL AMENDMENT

A system and method for the production of microbial consortiums and by-product material is provided. A physical containment system comprising phase spaces arranged in a discrete order to favor specific biological reactions is also provided. Phase profiles and phase data sets include the pre-determined physical and biological parameters for the phase space transitions. Movement of material from one phase to the next is hydraulically balanced enabling working fluid to continuously move in a fixed direction and rate of flow. Continuous monitoring of phase profiles and phase data sets provide feedback to the system enabling alteration of the conditions in the system to control reactions therein.

CARBON CAPTURE IN FERMENTATION FOR COMMODITY CHEMICALS

The disclosure relates to methods of capturing carbon by microbial fermentation of a gaseous substrate comprising CO into one or more first products which, in turn, may be incorporated into an article of manufacture or one or more second products. Further, the disclosure relates to improving carbon capture and/or efficiency.
