Microbial Conversion of CO2 and Other C1 Substrates to Vegan Nutrients, Fertilizers, Biostimulants, and Systems for Accelerated Soil Sequestration
Microorganisms and bioprocesses are provided that convert gaseous substrates, such as renewable H.sub.2 and waste CO.sub.2 producer gas, or syngas into high-protein biomass that may be used directly for human nutrition, or as a nutrient for plants, fungi, or other microorganisms, or as a source of soil carbon, nitrogen, and other mineral nutrients. Renewable H.sub.2 used in the processes described herein may be generated by electrolysis using solar or wind power. Producer gas used in the processes described herein may be derived from sources that include gasification of waste feedstock and/or biomass residue, waste gas from industrial processes, or natural gas, biogas, or landfill gas.

DOWNSCALING PARAMETERS TO DESIGN EXPERIMENTS AND PLATE MODELS FOR MICRO-ORGANISMS AT SMALL SCALE TO IMPROVE PREDICTION OF PERFORMANCE AT LARGER SCALE
Systems, methods and computer-readable media are provided for designing experiments for organisms at a first scale to generate first-scale performance data used in predicting performance of the organisms at a second, larger scale. The design includes determining first-scale screening conditions based at least in part upon the contribution of second-scale conditions to performance parameters of an organism at the second scale. The first-scale screening conditions include one or more proxies for second-scale conditions that cannot be replicated at first scale. The design determines first-scale screening parameters based at least in part upon computer modeling of the metabolism of the organism at the second scale.

Method for Producing Selenoneine
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for producing selenoneine that allows production of selenoneine at higher yields, even if an inorganic selenium compound is used as a selenium compound. This purpose can be achieved by a method for producing selenoneine, comprising the step of applying histidine and a selenium compound to a transformant to obtain selenoneine, wherein the transformant has at least one gene selected from the group consisting of a SatA gene, a CysB gene and a MetR gene, and an EgtA gene inserted therein and can overexpress the inserted genes.
