SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS INCLUDING CONNECTED STYLING TOOLS
A system is provided including a styling tool configured to treat or shape a user's hair, and a client device configured to communicate with the styling tool and provide feedback to the user regarding a user's usage of the styling tool. The client device is configured to receive input information from the user regarding a desired result to be achieved using the styling tool, and to output guidance information on a method of using the styling tool to achieve the desired result.
HAIR STYLING DEVICE WITH TEXTURED SURFACE
A hair styling device comprising a heatable surface having a body, and a heater supported by the body, which heats the heatable surface. The heatable surface is on the body for heating and styling hair, and comprises at least one textured portion having projections with recesses between the projections. The projections are sufficiently close together that when the textured portion is wetted with water, the recesses are not wetted.

HAIR STYLING APPARATUS HAVING DUAL SWITCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR
In a hair styling apparatus a heating assembly is operable to apply heat to hair. First and second arms are hingedly connected for selective movement relative to each other between an opened configuration and a closed configuration of the hair styling apparatus. The heating assembly includes a hair contact heating surface disposed on at least one of the first and second arms. An actuator is operatively connected to both an operating switch and a lock, with the actuator being moveable between a first position in which, concurrently, the switch is moved to the on position and the lock is moved to the unlocked position and a second position in which, concurrently, the switch is moved to the off position and the lock is moved to the locked position.

HAIR STYLING DEVICE, HAIR STYLING METHOD AND DRIVE SYSTEM
A hair styling device and a hair styling method are described, for imparting a wave to a section of hair, the device having a first forming member, a second forming member, and a hair-receiving region between the first forming member and the second forming member. A primary driving element is movable relative to the first forming member and the second forming member and is adapted to move the section of hair in the hair-receiving region in a hair-deforming direction. The device has a secondary driving element, movable relative to the first forming member and the second forming member, and adapted to move the section of hair in the hair-receiving region in a direction opposed to the hair-deforming direction. The secondary driving element can thereby drive the section of hair into a more relaxed position to produce a more natural looking wave.
