HAIR ROLLER
A hair roller comprises a housing, an electrically-powered heater, an electrical energy source, and a controller. A section of hair can be wrapped onto the housing and, in use, the electrically-powered heater heats the hair roller to transfer heat to the hair wrapped around the housing. The electrical energy source is located within the housing and supplies electrical energy to the electrically-powered heater. The controller to controls the supply of electrical energy to the electrically-powered heater.
HAIR ROLLER
A hair roller comprises a housing, an electrically-powered heater, and an electrical connector. A section of hair can be wrapped around the housing and, in use, the electrically-powered heater heats the hair roller to transfer heat to the hair wrapped around the housing. The electrical connector is removably connectable to an electrical supply connector of a power applicator. In use, the electrical connector is to receive electrical energy from the electrical supply connector for delivery to the electrically-powered heater. The power applicator is configured so that the electrical energy can supplied to the electrical connector from the electrical supply connector when the hair is wrapped around the housing of the hair roller.

Heating Unit for Rollers Employing Magnetic Inductance
Heating units for heating hair rollers are provided, as well as rollers for use therewith. An exemplary heating unit includes a housing having a lid and a lower portion, with a first magnetic core disposed within the lower portion and a second magnetic core disposed within the lid. The first magnetic core includes two parallel legs, and a plurality of conductive windings wound around one of the two legs. When the housing is closed the first and second magnetic cores together form a square closed core. When energized, the windings generate a magnetic field within the square closed core that induces an electric current in a roller disposed around the second of the two legs. An exemplary roller for use with the heating unit comprises a conductive cylinder, such as aluminum, having a diameter of at least two inches and including bristles protruding perpendicular to the exterior surface.
