A hot-press formed product can be achieved which has regions corresponding to a shock resistant portion and an energy absorption portion within a single formed product without applying a welding method and achieves the balance of high strength and elongation with a high level according to each region by means of having a first forming region exhibiting a metal structure containing martensite: 80-97 area % and retained austenite: 3-20 area % respectively, the remaining structure being 5 area % or less, and a second forming region exhibiting a metal structure containing annealed martensite or annealed bainite: 30-97 area %, martensite as quenched: 0-67 area %, and retained austenite: 3-20 area %.
System and method for producing a hardened and tempered structural member
System and methods relating to in-line heat-treating, hardening and tempering of material, such as for example, coiled steel into a roll-formed, hardened and tempered structural member having uniform or different targeted properties in selected zones of the structural member. The different targeted properties may be achieved by heating and/or cooling the material subject to certain parameters.
Method of production rare-earth magnet
A production method includes producing a rare-earth magnet precursor (S′) by performing first hot working in which, in two side surfaces of a sintered body, which are parallel to a pressing direction and are opposite to each other, one side surface is brought to a constrained state to suppress deformation, and the other side surface is brought to an unconstrained state to permit deformation; and producing a rare-earth magnet by performing second hot working in which, in two side surfaces (S′1, S′2) of the rare-earth magnet precursor (S′), which are parallel to the pressing direction, a side surface (S′2), which is in the unconstrained state in the first hot working, is brought to the constrained state to suppress deformation, and a side surface (S′1), which is in the constrained state in the first hot working, is brought to the unconstrained state to permit deformation.

Provided is steel for nitrocarburizing with excellent surface fatigue strength. The steel has a nitride compound layer with a thickness of 5.0 μm to 30.0 μm and a hardened layer in an order from a steel surface to steel inside, where a thickness of a porous layer on an outermost surface of the compound layer is 3.0 μm or less and 40.0% or less of a compound layer's thickness, the hardened layer has hardness of HV600 or more, HV400 or more and HV250 or more at 50 μm inward from the steel surface, from the steel surface to the steel inside of 400 μm, and from the steel surface to the steel inside of 600 μm, respectively, an unhardened portion excluding the compound and hardened layers has a predetermined chemical composition, and the hardened layer has a chemical composition with a higher N content than the unhardened portion.
ALLOY
There is provided an alloy that has sufficient creep strength in a high temperature environment, and that is capable of achieving both excellent stress relaxation cracking resistance and excellent weld hot cracking resistance. An alloy according to the present disclosure consists of, in mass %, C: 0.050 to 0.100%, Si: 1.00% or less, Mn: 1.50% or less, P: 0.035% or less, S: 0.0015% or less, Cr: 19.00 to 23.00%, Ni: 30.00 to 35.00%, N: 0.100% or less, Al: 0.15 to 0.70%, Ti: 0.15 to 0.70%, and B: 0.0010 to 0.0050%, with the balance being Fe and impurities, and satisfies Formula (1) and Formula (2).
High strength galvanized steel sheet and method for manufacturing the same
A high strength galvanized steel sheet has a composition including, C: 0.02% or more and 0.30% or less, Si: 0.01% or more and 2.5% or less, Mn: 0.1% or more and 3.0% or less, P: 0.003% or more and 0.08% or less, S: 0.01% or less, Al: 0.001% or more and 0.20% or less, Ti: 0.03% or more and 0.40% or less and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, and a zinc-coated layer having a coating weight per surface of 20 g/m.sup.2 or more and 120 g/m.sup.2 or less. The concentration ratio of C to Ti (C/Ti) in a portion within 10 μm from the surface of the base steel sheet is 0.8 or more and 1.5 or less, and the total amount of oxides of one or more selected from Fe, Si, Mn, P, Al and Ti formed in a surface portion within 100 μm from the surface of the base steel sheet is 0.05 g/m.sup.2 or less.
HIGH STRENGTH CRYOGENIC HIGH MANGANESE STEELS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Improved steel compositions and methods of making the same are provided. More particularly, the present disclosure provides high manganese (Mn) steel having enhanced strength and/or performance at cryogenic temperatures, and methods for fabricating high manganese steel compositions having enhanced strength and/or performance at cryogenic temperatures. The advantageous steel compositions/components of the present disclosure improve one or more of the following properties: strength, toughness, elastic modulus, thermal expansion coefficient and/or thermal conductivity. In general, the present disclosure provides high manganese steels tailored to resist wear and/or deformation at cryogenic temperatures.
Hot-stamping formed body
A hot-stamping formed body has a predetermined chemical composition and a microstructure including, by area ratio, 90% to 100% of martensite and 0% to 10% of a remainder in the microstructure. In the microstructure, a region in which an average GAIQ value in a unit grain is 60,000 or more is 30 area % or more, and a number density of carbides having a circle equivalent diameter of 0.20 μm or more is 50/mm.sup.2 or less.
