The apparatus includes a conveying unit having a conveying belt rotated by a plurality of rotating shafts which are rotated to convey the supplied waste battery in one direction, a pulverizer disposed on a position along a travelling direction of the conveying unit to pulverize the waste battery, a heater disposed on a downstream side of the pulverizer to heat dust formed by the pulverizer, a collector collecting the dust which passes through the pulverizer and the heater, a filter part filtering a pulverized material of the collector, a mixer supplying an additive to the dust discharged from a discharge pipe of the filter part, and a compressor compressing a mixture mixed in the mixer.

Method and system for separation of rare earth elements from secondary sources

Recovery of rare earth elements (REEs) from electronic wastes is a promising approach. The existing methods for separation of REE from the secondary sources are not economically viable and scalable. A method and system for separation of rare earth metals from a plurality of secondary sources has been provided. The magnet is obtained from the secondary sources which is then crushed to a coarser size. The powder is then demagnetized by heating and roasted at high temperature to obtain the metal oxides. The metals oxides are then dissolved by acid leaching to obtain leach liquor. Iron is removed from leach liquor by precipitation and separated by filtration. The individual REE is then separated by liquid-liquid extraction. The conditions in liquid-liquid extraction are adjusted such that only desired REE is separated. The extracted REE is then stripped out by acid. The individual rare earth element is then precipitated and dried.

Lithium-ion batteries recycling process

It is provided a process for recycling lithium ion batteries comprising shredding the lithium-ion batteries and immersing residues in an organic solvent; feeding the shredded batteries residues in a dryer producing a gaseous organic phase and dried batteries residues; feeding the dried batteries residues to a magnetic separator removing magnetic particles; grinding the non-magnetic batteries residues; mixing the fine particles and an acid producing a metal oxides slurry and leaching said metal oxides slurry; filtering the leachate removing the non-leachable metals; feeding the leachate into a sulfide precipitation tank; neutralizing the leachate; mixing the leachate with an organic extraction solvent; separating cobalt and manganese from the leachate using solvent extraction and electrolysis; crystallizing sodium sulfate from the aqueous phase; adding sodium carbonate to the liquor and heating up the sodium carbonate and the liquor producing a precipitate of lithium carbonate; and drying and recuperating the lithium carbonate.

STEEL FOR WIND POWER GEAR WITH IMPROVED PURITY AND RELIABILITY, AND SMELTING METHOD THEREFOR

Provided is steel for a wind power gear with improved purity and reliability. The chemical components thereof comprise, in percentages by mass: 0.15-0.19% of C, ≤0.4% of Si, 0.5-0.7% of Mn, ≤0.012% of P, ≤0.006% of S, 1.5-1.8% of Cr, 0.28-0.35% of Mo, 1.4-1.7% of Ni, and 0.02-0.04% of Al, with the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities. A smelting method therefor comprises adding raw materials to a converter for primary melting, transferring same to a refining furnace for refining, carrying out continuous casting after vacuum degassing, and transferring same to a gas protection furnace for electroslag remelting. According to the present invention, a pure electroslag master batch is obtained by continuous casting, and the purity of the material is further improved by means of an electroslag remelting procedure; and the prepared steel material is used in a wind power gear, such that the flaw detection pass rate is significantly increased, large-particle inclusions in the steel material are significantly reduced, and the inclusions are fine and dispersed.

A process for removal of aluminium and iron in the recycling of rechargeable batteries comprising providing a leachate from black mass, adding phosphoric acid (H.sub.3PO.sub.4) to said leachate and adjusting the pH to form iron phosphate (FePO.sub.4) and aluminium phosphate (AlPO.sub.4), precipitating and removing the formed FePO.sub.4 and AlPO.sub.4, and forming a filtrate for further recovery of cathode metals, mainly NMC-metals and lithium.

PROCESS FOR THE RECOVERY OF LITHIUM AND OTHER METALS FROM WASTE LITHIUM ION BATTERIES

A process for the recovery of one or more transition metals and lithium from waste lithium ion batteries or parts thereof is disclosed. The process comprising the steps of (a) providing a particulate material containing a transition metal compound and/or transition metal, wherein the transition metal is selected from the group consisting of Ni and Co, and wherein further at least a fraction of said Ni and/or Co, if present, are in an oxidation state lower than +2, e.g. in the metallic state; which particulate material further contains a lithium salt; (b) treating the material provided in step (a) with a polar solvent and optionally an alkaline earth hydroxide; (c) separating the solids from the liquid, optionally followed by a solid-solid separation step; and (d) treating the solids containing the transition metal in a smelting furnace to obtain a metal melt containing Ni and/or Co provides good separation of transition metal as alloy and of lithium in high purity.

Lead is recovered from lead paste of a lead acid battery in a continuous and electrochemical lead recovery process. In especially preferred aspects, lead paste is processed to remove residual sulfates, and the so treated lead paste is subjected to a thermal treatment step that removes residual moisture and reduces lead dioxide to lead oxide. Advantageously, such pretreatment will avoid lead dioxide accumulation and electrolyte dilution.

The invention relates to a method for recovering precious metals from electronic waste utilising biometallurgical techniques. In one aspect, a method of recovering one or more target metals from electronic waste, includes (a) removing at least a portion of non-target material from the electronic waste or grinding to a preselected size particle to give pre-processed electronic waste; (b) contacting the pre-processed electronic waste with a lixiviant such that at least a portion of the target metal(s) dissolve into the lixiviant to produce a pregnant solution; (c) contacting a microorganism with the pregnant solution such that at least a portion of the target metal(s) ions biosorb to the microorganism wherein the microorganism becomes metal laden and the pregnant solution becomes barren; (d) substantially separating the metal laden microorganism from the barren solution; and (e) recovery of the target metal(s) from the metal laden microorganism.

The invention relates to hydrometallurgical method for recovering lithium and one or more transition metals from spent lithium ion batteries, comprising: treating an electrode material of the batteries in an alkaline solution to dissolve lithium in said solution; separating from the alkaline solution a solid phase consisting of lithium-depleted electrode material; recovering lithium from said alkaline solution; leaching the lithium-depleted electrode material with an acid leach solution to dissolve one or more transition metals of the electrode material in the leach solution; separating insoluble material, if present, from the leach solution to obtain metal-bearing aqueous solution and isolating one or more transition metal(s) and optionally the remainder of the lithium from said metal-bearing aqueous solution.
