A formula delivery appliance can be used for treatment of the hair and scalp, such as an appliance used to color hair. The appliance may include a consumable assembly incorporating various components of the hair and scalp treatment appliance, a portion of which may be consumed and then replaced by a user. In this regard, the consumable assembly may include one or more formulation delivery packets, nozzles, manifold chambers, distribution protrusions, and the like. The hair treatment appliance may also include a rotatable coupling having a driven gear and a drive gear, where the driven gear may selectively engage the drive gear. In another aspect, the hair treatment appliance may also include a fluid container to retain a volume of formulation for delivery to the appliance.

A salon chemical dispensing assembly for storing a selectively dispensing a fluid salon treatment includes a bottle for storing a fluid salon treatment. A pumping unit is removably coupled to the bottle to urge the fluid salon treatment outwardly from the bottle when the pumping unit is turned on. A dispensing nozzle is removably coupled to the pumping unit and the fluid salon treatment in the bottle is pumped into the dispensing nozzle thereby facilitating the dispensing nozzle to dispense the fluid salon treatment. A pick housing is movably coupled to the bottle and a pick is slidably positioned in the pick housing. The pick is positionable in a stored position having the pick being retracted into the pick housing. The pick is positionable in a deployed position having the pick extending outwardly from the pick housing.

A device for treating hair or scalp, the device comprises a dispenser connected to a cartridge, wherein the cartridge comprises a formulation; a plurality of tips, wherein the tips have at least one opening to dispense the formulation; and a controller that controls the amount of formulation that is dispensed from the tips.

A valve system comprises: a valve body; a valve cap; and a valve plug between the valve body and valve cap is compressed radially and axially, and a central bore extends wholly through the valve body and valve cap and partially through the valve plug. The valve system is welded to a packet which can contain a hair color formula. One or more of the packets are then used in a cartridge compatible with a dispensing device.

A dispensing brush assembly containing and selectively dispensing a hair care product includes a brush that is selectively manipulated thereby facilitating the brush to groom hair. The brush has a reservoir therein to contain a fluid. A plunger unit is movably coupled to the brush and the plunger unit is selectively manipulated. The plunger unit is in fluid communication with the reservoir to selectively urge the fluid outwardly from the brush. In this way the fluid may be urged onto the hair to enhance grooming.
