A skin treatment apparatus, preferably an epilator, comprising at least one detector for detecting approximation and/or contact with the skin and a control unit to actuate the device depending on the signal received from the detector. The control unit has at least one regulator which increases the speed of the drive unit upon detection of an increased resistance and/or current consumption by a sensor and/or decreases the speed of the drive unit upon detection of an decreased resistance and/or current consumption by a sensor.
Hair removal apparatus
The present invention relates to hair removal. In order to provide a hair-removal apparatus with improved user acceptance, a hair-removal apparatus (10) is provided that comprises a hair-removal device (12) with a movable hair-removal component (14) which comprises at least a first hair-contacting member (36) and a second hair-contacting member (36) which are movable relative to each other and which are configured and arranged to mutually co-operate for removing hairs by mutually exerting a contact force, a pressing component (40) configured and arranged to generate said contact force by exerting a pressing force (20) on the movable hair-removal component during operation, a skin proximity sensing component (16), and a force adjusting component (18). The skin proximity sensing component (16) is configured and arranged to detect a relative distance (22) between the movable hair-removal component (14) and a portion of the skin (24) with hairs to be removed. The force adjusting component (18) is configured and arranged to adjust, during operation, the pressing force (20) exerted by the pressing component (40) in dependence on the relative distance (22) detected by the skin proximity sensing component (16). The movable hair-removal component (14) has a functional mode wherein the contact force has a first value and a non-functional mode wherein the contact force has a second value smaller than the first value. The force adjusting component (18) is configured and arranged to adjust the pressing force (20) exerted by the pressing component (40) such that, when the relative distance (22) detected by the skin proximity sensing component (16) is a first relative distance (26), the movable hair-removal component (14) operates in the non-functional mode and, when the relative distance (22) detected by the skin proximity sensing component (16) is a second relative distance (28) smaller than the first relative distance (26), the movable hair-removal component (14) operates in the functional mode.
Hair removal apparatus
The present invention relates to hair removal, and in particular to a handheld hair removal apparatus. In order to reduce pain during hair removal, the handheld hair removal apparatus comprises a hair removal arrangement, a support structure and a skin stretching device attached to the support structure and comprising at least two leading surface portions for skin contacting and stretching. The apparatus has a main movement direction in which the apparatus is to be moved relative to skin during use. The hair removal arrangement comprises a skin contact portion for contacting a user's skin during operation, wherein the skin contact portion extends at least along a primary axis extending perpendicularly to the main movement direction During operation, the skin stretching device provides a stretched skin portion between the at least two leading surface portions.
Epilator
The present disclosure is concerned with epilator having an epilator head that has a head housing and a skin contacting unit arranged for being pivotable with respect to the head housing around a first axis and a handle arranged for being held by a user's hand, wherein the epilator head is pivotably connected with the handle and is arranged for being pivotable with respect to the handle around a second axis, the first axis and the second axis being essentially perpendicular to each other and the first axis and the second axis have a distance to each other and wherein the epilator head comprises a neck portion that is connected with the handle to establish a separable but otherwise fixed connection and the head housing comprises a cylindrically or spherically shaped neck wall, which neck wall is arranged to immerse into a hollow defined by the neck portion when the head housing pivots around the second axis.
Epilation device measuring contact force and comprising a feedback unit
There is provided an epilation device for removing body hair with at least one epilation unit. In particular, an epilation barrel, having a plurality of pairs of tweezers for pinching and pulling out hairs from the skin. The epilation device further has a drive unit for driving the at least one epilation barrel and a control unit. The control unit is able to analyze the force with which the user presses the epilation unit to the skin resulting in contact pressure and compares the contact pressure applied to at least one threshold contact pressure.
