Variable heat-treat endodontic file
The present disclosure relates to the field of endodontic instrumentation, and more particularly to apparatus and methods for manufacturing that include applying a variable heat-treat to an endodontic file blank based on geometric parameters that will be formed in the blank.
Cooperative shape memory alloy torque tubes for continuous-action turning motor
An engine turning clock work motor including two shape memory alloy (SMA) torque tube actuators, ratcheting mechanisms, and gearing. The gearing communicates the SMA torque tube actuators with a common gear that applies torque to a shaft, so that while one torque tube is heated and applying torque, the other torque tube is relaxed (using a cooling mechanism). The ratchet prevents the relaxing torque tube from applying torque in the incorrect direction.
Hybrid component with multiple cores and method for treating a component
A hybrid preform component including a plurality of elongated metallic cores and a coating paste is provided. The coating paste envelops the plurality of elongated metallic cores. The coating paste includes a first material having a first melting point, a second material having a second melting point, and a binder. A method for treating a component is also provided. The method includes the step of mixing a second material, a first material, and a binder to make coating paste. The method further includes the step of coating the plurality of cores using the coating paste to form a coated rod assembly. The method further includes the step of compressing the coated rod assembly to envelop the coating paste to the plurality of cores and form a preform component having a near net shape. The method further includes the step of sintering the preform component to form a pre-sintered preform.
Abrasion-resistant weld overlay
A material blend for deposition of an abrasion-resistant overlay onto a metal substrate comprising a first metal particle component, a second metal particle component, and a carbide particle component and a method for the application thereof, wherein the overlay process conditions and the homogeneity of tungsten carbide distribution in the overlay are improved.
Nitinol nanofibers
Proposed is a nitinol nanofiber with an average surface roughness that is enhanced through mechanical and chemical treatments. The enhanced surface roughness improves biocompatibility and promotes tissue growing, thereby improving the bioavailability of the nitinol nanofiber. The nitinol nanofiber undergoes infrared irradiation whereby the nitinol fiber exhibits improved tensile strength, elastic modulus, and maximum restorative stress. Therefore, fatigue fraction does not easily occur in the nitinol fiber even when the nitinol nanofiber has a constant roughness. The present invention provides bio-use or medical nitinol nanofibers that are highly biocompatible.
HIGH TEMPERATURE COMPONENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A method for producing a high temperature component includes a shaping step of shaping a powder compact of a desired high temperature component shape using a specific powder shaping method, from an alloy powder of precipitation strengthening-type Ni-based alloy, and a crystal grain coarsening step of coarsening a crystal grain size of the powder compact by heat treatment, wherein the powder compact contains 0.002% or more and 0.07% or less of C, and 5.40% or more and 8.40% or less of Al+Ti by mass percentage.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING NI-BASED HEAT-RESISTANT SUPERALLOY WIRE, AND NI-BASED HEAT-RESISTANT SUPER ALLOY WIRE
Provided are: a method for manufacturing a Ni-based heat-resistant superalloy wire having excellent bending workability; and a Ni-based heat-resistant superalloy wire. The method for manufacturing a Ni-based heat-resistant superalloy wire comprises a rod preparation step for preparing a Ni-based heat-resistant superalloy rod; and a rod processing step in which plastic working having a working rate of 40% or less is repeated several times toward the axis from the circumferential surface of the rod at a temperature of 500 C. or lower until the cumulative working rate reaches 60% or more to reduce the cross-sectional area of the rod. A Ni-based heat-resistant superalloy wire obtained by the manufacturing method has a plastic worked or recrystallized microstructure.
Method of forming a sintered nickel-titanium-rare earth (Ni—Ti—Re) alloy
A method of forming a sintered nickel-titanium-rare earth (NiTi-RE) alloy includes adding one or more powders comprising Ni, Ti, and a rare earth constituent to a powder consolidation unit comprising an electrically conductive die and punch connectable to a power supply. The one or more powders are heated at a ramp rate of about 35 C./min or less to a sintering temperature, and pressure is applied to the powders at the sintering temperature, thereby forming a sintered NiTi-RE alloy.
Rare earth based hydrogen storage alloy and application thereof
The invention relates to a rare earth based hydrogen storage alloy, represented by the general formula (I):
RE.sub.xY.sub.yNi.sub.z-a-b-cMn.sub.aAl.sub.bM.sub.cZr.sub.ATi.sub.B(I)
wherein RE denotes one or more element(s) selected from La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd; M denotes one or more element(s) selected from Cu, Fe, Co, Sn, V, W. The alloy has favorable pressure-composition-temperature characteristic, high hydrogen storage capacity, high electrochemical capacity. The alloy doesn't contain magnesium element, and the preparation process of the alloy is easy and safe.
Ni-Based Alloy Product and Method for Producing Same, and Ni-Based Alloy Member and Method for Producing Same
There are provided: an Ni-based alloy member including a phase precipitation with 36 to 60 volume % and exhibiting a high durable temperature and good cold workability; a method for producing the member; an Ni-based alloy product to be used as a precursor of the member; and a method for producing the product. The Ni-based alloy product has a two-phase structure composed of a phase and a phase being incoherent to the phase, the incoherent phase being present at a ratio of 20 volume % or higher.
