Grain-oriented electrical steel sheet and method for manufacturing same

Provided is a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet having better transformer iron loss property than conventional grain-oriented electrical steel sheets. A grain-oriented electrical steel sheet comprises: a steel substrate; a forsterite film on a surface of the steel substrate; and a Cr-depleted layer at a boundary between the steel substrate and the forsterite film, the Cr-depleted layer having a Cr concentration that is 0.70 times to 0.90 times a Cr concentration of the steel substrate.

High-strength medium manganese steel for warm stamping and method for manufacturing same

The present invention relates to high-strength medium manganese steel for warm stamping, which contains 3-10 wt % of manganese (Mn), 0.05-0.3 wt % of carbon (C), and 0.1-1.0 wt % of silicon (Si) as components thereof, with the balance being iron (Fe) and unavoidably contained impurities. The present invention performs heat treatment at the low austenitizing temperature of medium manganese steel, and thus has the effect of reducing the high thermal energy consumption of the prior art hot stamping process. Furthermore, the present invention does not require an additional temperature process, and can obtain high strength by only slow cooling such as air cooling outside a mold without performing cooling at high rate inside the mold, and thus has the effects of simplifying a process and improving manufacturing efficiency.

The rail has a metallic structure including a pearlitic structure and a structure other than the pearlitic structure in a surface layer from a surface of a rail head to a depth of at least 0.5 mm, where the pearlitic structure has Vickers hardness of 420 HV or more and 520 HV or less, and the structure other than the pearlitic structure has Vickers hardness of 350 HV or more and 420 HV or less.

Offset link for roller chain with enhanced strength
11713492 · 2023-08-01 · ·

A roller chain having at least one pair of offset links wherein the offset link plates are made with a steel having a high chromium content and are through-hardened using an austempering heat treatment (such as a salt bath quench). The resulting offset link plates may have a hardness in range of 44-50 HRC on the Rockwell hardness scale and a bainite metallurgical microstructure. The offset link plates may also have a greater fatigue strength than at least one of the inner link plates and the outer link plates. The inner and outer link plates may be formed out of a plain carbon steel which is heated, quenched and tempered to produce a martensite microstructure.

Spark plasma sintered cBN and Ni-cBN bearing steel

Bearing steel comprising cubic boron nitride (c-BN) and/or nickel coated cBN spark plasma sintered at a temperature in the range of 850-1050° C. is disclosed. The tribological and corrosion resistance of the bearing steel improved with increasing the amount of c-BN. Further improvement in the properties was achieved with the incorporation of nickel coated c-BN, which caused a phase transition of the bearing steel from magnetic to non-magnetic phase accompanied by interdiffusion enhancement between the matrix and c-BN reinforcement.
