Method and coating device for coating a metal strip
Within a coating device, a metal strip first runs through a coating container with a liquid coating agent and then a stripping nozzle device for stripping off excess coating agent from the surface of the strip. After the stripping nozzle device, the strip runs through a strip stabilizing device with a plurality of magnets on both broad sides of the strip. A form control deviation is determined as the difference between an actual form of the strip and a desired form of the strip and this form control deviation is used for activating the magnets in order to transform the actual form of the strip into the desired form. The magnets of the strip stabilizing device may be moved in the widthwise direction of the strip into a traversing position in relation to the magnets on the respectively opposite broad side of the strip.
Method for producing a sheet having a ZnAlMg coating with optimized wiping
The present invention provides a method for producing a sheet. The method includes providing a substrate, depositing a metal coating over at least one surface by dipping the substrate in a bath in order to obtain the sheet, wiping the metal coating by means of at least one nozzle projecting through at least one outlet a wiping gas onto the metal coating, the sheet being run in front of the nozzle, the wiping gas being ejected from the nozzle along a primary direction of ejection (E), a confinement box delimiting a confined zone at least downstream of the zone of impact (I) of the wiping gas on the sheet and solidifying the metal coating. The method satisfying:

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COATING A METAL STRIP
A method and a device for coating a metal strip with a coating material that is still liquid at first. During the coating, the coated metal strip runs through a roller pair. One of the rollers of the roller pair can be adjusted toward the other as a correction roller in order to eliminate a possible curvature of the metal strip. Then the metal strip runs through a blow-off apparatus for blowing off surplus coating. In order to prevent an uneven thickness distribution of the coating on the metal strip even when the correction roller of the roller pair has been adjusted, the actual position of the metal strip is controlled to a specified setpoint center position in the slot of the blow-off apparatus by an appropriate movement of the blow-off apparatus.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A COATING WEIGHT UNIFORMITY IN INDUSTRIAL GALVANIZING LINES
A method for controlling and optimizing a transverse uniformity of a coating thickness on at least one side of a running metal strip in an industrial galvanization installation, the coating being deposited by hot dip coating in a pot containing a liquid metal bath, includes at least the steps of: heating the strip substrate to a temperature higher than a pot temperature; passing the strip through the bath by wrapping the strip around at least a first deflector roll or sink roll followed by at least one second deflector roll, the second deflector roll improving a flatness of the strip; wiping excess coating thickness carried away by the strip on one or both sides of the strip by wiping nozzles blowing a gas on the strip at an exit of the liquid metal bath; and measuring an actual distance profile between the nozzles and the strip.
Coated metal band having an improved appearance
A hot-dip-coated, non-skin-passed, cold-rolled metal strip is provided. The metal coating of the metal strip includes a waviness Wa.sub.0.8 of less than or equal to 0.70 μm, 0.2 to 8% by weight of aluminum and magnesium, and up to 0.3% by weight of additional elements, the balance being zinc and inevitable impurities. Metal parts are also provided.
SUPPORT TOOLING FOR POROUS PREFORMS TO BE INFILTRATED AND OVEN USING SUCH A TOOLING
A support tooling for porous preforms intended to be infiltrated by a molten metal includes a rack including two suspension bars each extending longitudinally along a first direction, the suspension bars being held spaced apart from one another along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; a plurality or porous preform supports removably mounted on the suspension bars, each support including a first portion connected to one of the suspension bars by a connection sliding along a third direction perpendicular to the first and second directions and a second portion extending from the first portion and including support elements which are able to hold a porous preform by point or linear contact.
Zinc alloy plated steel material having excellent surface quality and corrosion resistance
Provided is a plated steel material which can be used for an automobile, a household appliance, a building material, and the like and, more specifically, to a zinc alloy plated steel material having excellent surface quality and corrosion resistance, and a method for manufacturing the same.
ACTIVATED ALUMINUM FUEL
Aluminum can be used as a fuel source when reacted with water if its native surrounding oxide coating is penetrated with a gallium-based eutectic. When discrete aluminum objects are treated in a heated bath of eutectic, the eutectic penetrates the oxide coating. After the aluminum objects are treated, the aluminum objects can be reacted in a reactor to produce hydrogen which can, for example, react with oxygen in a fuel cell to produce electricity, for use in a variety of applications.
CONTINUOUS HOT DIP GALVANIZING APPARATUS
A continuous hot-dip galvanizing apparatus has a vertical annealing furnace, one or more hearth rolls, a hot-dip galvanizing apparatus, an alloying line, and humidified gas supply ports. When the steel sheet having a Si content of 0.2 mass % or more is conveyed inside the annealing furnace, the humidified gas supply ports positioned in a latter part of the soaking zone supply the humidified gas to the soaking zone and the at least one dry gas supply port supplies the dry gas to the soaking zone. When the steel sheet having a Si content of less than 0.2 mass % is conveyed inside the annealing furnace, the plurality of the humidified gas supply ports do not supply the humidified gas to the soaking zone and the at least one dry gas supply port supplies the dry gas to the soaking zone.
