The suction section is disposed on the extension line on the hot-dip plating bath surface at another side in the steel strip width direction, and sucks in the liquid metal for hot dipping. The suction section is configured by a first suction portion and a second suction portion. The first suction portion and the second suction portion are disposed separated from each other at each side of the steel strip width direction extension line of the steel strip entry position on the hot-dip plating bath surface.

Method and device for hot-dip coating a metal strip with a metal covering

The invention relates to a device and a method for hot-dip coating a metal strip with a metal covering, wherein the metal strip is directed continuously through a melt bath, wherein the thickness of the metal covering present on the metal strip when it leaves the melt bath is adjusted by means of a scraping device, and wherein slag which is present on the melt bath is driven away from the metal strip leaving the melt bath by means of a gas flow. To prevent slag from coming into contact with the metal strip leaving the melt bath, the invention drives away the slag from the metal strip by means of at least one nozzle which is arranged in close proximity to the metal strip, that a gas flow which extends over the width of the metal strip is directed onto the surface of the melt bath.

A device installed between a surface of a coating bath and an air knife equipment to produce a hot dip metal coated steel sheet to form a non-oxidation atmosphere in a surface of a coated steel sheet ascending from the coating bath, the device comprising: lower gas discharge bars spaced apart from the surface of the coating bath by a predetermined distance and discharging a non-oxidation gas in a direction of the surface of the coating bath along the surface of the coated steel sheet; a side cover extending upwardly slopingly in a direction of the coated steel sheet from the sides of the lower gas discharge bars; and upper gas discharge bars formed at an upper end of the side cover and discharging a non-oxidation gas downwardly.

Method for dip coating a steel strip and facility for implementing same

A method for hot-dip coating of a steel strip running in a bath of liquid metal such as zinc, or metal alloy contained in a pan is provided. Dross which are formed during the coating and float at the surface of the bath are moved away from the surface of the strip by at least one inductor. Each inductor produces a sliding electromagnetic field oriented along a given direction and generates a magnetomotive force, and the magnetomotive forces displaced the dross towards a container intended to collect them and/or towards an area of the surface of the bath from which they are discharged. For at least one of the inductors, the direction of the respective sliding electromagnetic field is reversed intermittently so as to modify the flows of the dross inside the pan. A hot dip coating facility is also provided.

A bubble pump having a steel tube pump body having an interior formed from a ceramic material that resists attack by molten metal. The pump further has a nitrogen supply line attached to a lower portion of the pump body. The pump body and nitrogen supply line are covered with a ceramic cloth material that resists attack by molten metal. The pump also includes a discharge head attached to the top of the pump body. The discharge head is formed of a cast ceramic material that resists attack by molten metal and includes a distribution chamber therein which has an ellipsoidal dome shape with a generally flat bottom and an ellipsoidal top. The discharge head also includes two discharge nozzles which have a square cross section. These features provide the inventive pump with extended service life and reduced discharge turbulence of the molten metal.

Method for producing electrode covered with sodium metal

A current collector is covered with sodium metal through: (1) applying a sodium dispersion containing sodium metal and at least one substance selected from the group consisting of an imide salt and a binder, on a current collector in an inert gas environment (with an oxygen concentration of not more than 0.01% and a dew point of not more than 10 C.), followed by heating and drying; (2) pressure bonding a piece of solid sodium metal having a surface which exhibits a metallic luster onto a current collector in the aforementioned inert gas environment; (3) vapor-depositing sodium metal on a current collector in a reduced pressure environment; or (4) immersing a current collector having a surface fired at a temperature ranging from 150 to 300 C. in molten sodium metal after removing a coating film which is generated on a surface and formed from impurities, in the aforementioned inert gas environment.
