METHOD OF MAKING A DECORATIVE ARTICLE, SUCH AS A JEWELLERY PIECE
A method of making a decorative article (1) such as a jewellery piece, the article comprising a body (2) having a decorative layer (5) and an element (3) set into the body. The method comprises: providing an element that is at least partially coated with a removable layer (4), setting the element into the body, coating the element and the body with the decorative layer, and removing the removable layer and the decorative layer from the element.
Ultrasound-assisted electrochemical distinction of normal and cancerous cells
A method for cancer diagnosis is disclosed. The method includes forming a plurality of cultured cells on an electrochemical biosensor placing the electrochemical biosensor in a medium solution comprising a cell culture solution of a plurality of biological cells, measuring a first electrochemical response from the electrochemical biosensor with the plurality of cultured cells, forming a plurality of stimulated cells on the electrochemical biosensor by ultrasonically stimulating of the plurality of cultured cells, measuring a second electrochemical response from the electrochemical biosensor with the plurality of stimulated cells, and detecting presence of cancer cells responsive to a difference between the first electrochemical response and the second electrochemical response being less than a threshold. Where, the first electrochemical response includes an electrochemical response of the plurality of cultured cells and the second electrochemical response includes an electrochemical response of the plurality of stimulated cells.
Laminate composite structural components and methods for the same
A method for fabricating a structural part is disclosed. The method can include forming a plurality of layers on a base of a system having one or more application heads. Forming the plurality of layers can include forming alternating layers of a first material and a second material. Forming the alternating layers can include forming a first layer from the first material, and forming a second layer adjacent the first layer from the second material. The plurality of layers can form the structural part, and one or more dimensions of the structural part can be greater than or equal to about 0.05 cm.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PIGMENT
A method of manufacturing a pigment. The method includes: providing a substrate; forming stacked multiple sets of films successively on the substrate, wherein each set of films comprises a sacrificial layer and an optical film, the sacrificial layer and the optical film are successively stacked, and the sacrificial layer is a stripping agent with compressive stress or low stress; and obtaining the pigment by stripping and crushing formed multiple sets of films.
REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE
A reverse osmosis membrane of the present invention includes a porous support substrate (2) and a separation active layer (3) formed on a surface of the porous support substrate (2) and formed of a carbon film containing organized carbon.
METHOD OF TRANSFERRING GRAPHENE AND FLEXIBLE TRANSPARENT ELECTRODE USING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to a method of transferring a graphene, the method comprising the steps of: forming a graphene on a first substrate; forming a polymer precursor mixture on a second substrate; disposing the graphene oppositely to the second substrate having the polymer precursor mixture formed thereon; pressing the first substrate and the second substrate while curing the polymer precursor mixture; and peeling off the first substrate.
Method of manufacturing a diffractive grating
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a diffractive grating. The method comprises providing a first substrate and manufacturing onto the first substrate a first surface profile using temporary grating material. Next, the first surface profile is covered entirely by a layer of final grating material and a second substrate is bonded onto the final grating material. Finally, the first substrate and the temporary grating material are removed for producing on the final grating material a second surface profile, which is a negative of the first surface profile. The invention allows for conveniently producing high quality gratings using e.g. inorganic materials and height and/or fill factor modulation for diffraction efficiency control.
METHOD OF PREPARING NANO-THIN FILM OF CEMENT HYDRATION PRODUCT
A method of preparing a cement hydration product nano-thin film, the method including: (1) preparing a cement hydration product; (2) preparing a water sacrificial layer film; (3) depositing the cement hydration product obtained in (1) on the surface of the water sacrificial layer film obtained in (2) to obtain a cement hydration product film; and (4) immersing the cement hydration product film in a saturated aqueous solution of calcium hydroxide to dissolve the water sacrificial layer film to obtain a nano-thin film of the cement hydration product.
Sapphire thin film coated flexible substrate
A method to transfer a layer of harder thin film substrate onto a softer, flexible substrate. In particular, the present invention provides a method to deposit a layer of sapphire thin film on to a softer and flexible substrate e.g. PET, polymers, plastics, paper and fabrics. This combination provides the hardness of sapphire thin film to softer flexible substrates.
DISCONTINUOUS VACUUM-METALIZED THIN FILM AND WIRE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A method for manufacturing a discontinuous vacuum-metalized thin film includes the following steps: step 1: coating a corona surface of a flexible thin film (1) with a longitudinal discontinuous stripping layer; step 2: coating the corona surface and the stripping layer with a metal layer (3); and step 3: removing the stripping layer and the metal layer (3) on the stripping layer to obtain a discontinuous vacuum-metalized thin film. A method for manufacturing a discontinuous vacuum-metalized wire, a discontinuous vacuum-metalized thin film and a discontinuous vacuum-metalized wire are further disclosed.
