COLORED RADIATIVE COOLER BASED ON TAMM STRUCTURE
The present invention provides a colored radiative cooler based on a Tamm structure, including a substrate on which metal film and dielectric layers A to G are sequentially provided from bottom to top, where the Tamm structure is formed from the metal film and the dielectric layers A to D; a distributed Bragg reflector is formed from the dielectric layers A to D; and a selective emitter is formed from the dielectric layers E to G. Compared to the conventional radiative cooler, the colored radiative cooler not only has better cooling performance, but it has a wide applications in many aspects such as aesthetics and decoration.

A black member includes a base and a black layer laminated on the base. The black layer contains titanium aluminum nitride, titanium silicon nitride, or titanium aluminum silicon nitride. The black layer may also contain at least one type of elements selected from the group consisting of oxygen, fluorine, and carbon. When the black layer contains carbon, and assuming that a total amount of elements contained in the black layer is 100 at %, the black layer contains carbon of 10 at % or less. In a color evaluation according to an L*, a*, b* color system (CIE color system), the black layer satisfies L*48.0, 2.0a*3.0, and 3.5b*3.0.
ALUMINUM PHYSICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION FOR THE COSMETIC FINISHING OF RECYCLED ALUMINUM ALLOYS
A method of forming a surface coating on a component of an electronic device can include depositing an aluminum layer including at least about 0.05 weight percent (wt %) of a grain refiner on a surface of the component by a physical vapor deposition process, and anodizing the aluminum layer to form an anodized aluminum oxide layer having a L* value greater than about 85 in the CIELAB color space.
NANOSTRUCTURED COLOUR FILM AND A METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME
A system and a method for a nanostructured film including a first layer for reflecting at least a portion of an electromagnetic radiation and a second layer for receiving the remainder of the electromagnetic radiation through the first layer and subsequently reflecting at least a portion of the received electromagnetic radiation through the first layer, wherein two electromagnetic radiations with the same wavelength reflected by the first and second layers respectively are combined to form a strengthened electromagnetic radiation, the wavelength of the strengthened electromagnetic radiation being variable based on the physical property of the first layer.
Flexible dynamic shade with post-sputtering modified surface, and/or method of making the same
Certain example embodiments relate to electric, potentially-driven shades usable with insulating glass (IG) units, IG units including such shades, and/or associated methods. In such a unit, a dynamic shade is located between the substrates defining the IG unit, and is movable between retracted and extended positions. The dynamic shade includes on-glass layers including a transparent conductor and an insulator or dielectric film, as well as a shutter. The shutter includes a resilient polymer, a conductor, and optional ink. Holes, invisible to the naked eye, may be formed in the polymer. Those holes may be sized, shaped, and arranged to promote summertime solar energy reflection and wintertime solar energy transmission. The conductor may be transparent or opaque. When the conductor is reflective, overcoat layers may be provided to help reduce internal reflection. The polymer may be capable of surviving high-temperature environments and may be colored in some instances.
Ion assisted deposition for rare-earth oxide based thin film coatings on process rings
A ring shaped body includes a top flat region, a ring inner side and a ring outer side. The ring inner side comprises an approximately vertical wall. A conformal protective layer is disposed on at least the top flat region, the ring inner side and the ring outer side of the ring shaped body. The protective layer has a first thickness of less than 300 m on the top flat region and a second thickness on the vertical wall of the ring inner side, where the second thickness is 45-70% of the first thickness.
Structurally-Colored Articles and Methods for Making and Using Structurally-Colored Articles
As described above, one or more aspects of the present disclosure provide articles having structural color, and methods of making articles having structural color. The present disclosure provides for articles that exhibit structural colors through the use of an optical element having one or more reflective layers, where structural colors are visible colors produced, at least in part, through optical effects (e.g., through scattering, refraction, reflection, interference, and/or diffraction of visible wavelengths of light).
COLORING PATTERN STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Provided is a coloring pattern structure. The coloring pattern structure includes: a substrate; a light-transmitting dielectric layer formed on at least one surface of the substrate; and a composite material layer disposed on an upper surface of the light-transmitting dielectric layer and formed of a metal and a first material not having a thermodynamic solid solubility in the metal, wherein the metal included in the composite material layer has a pattern coated only on portions of the upper surface of the light-transmitting dielectric layer, and the first material is coated on the remaining area where the metal is not coated.
