Metal Surface Treatment Agent, and Metal Material Having Film and Manufacturing Method Therefor
The present invention addresses the problem of providing, for example, a novel metal surface treatment agent which can form a film capable of maintaining antimicrobial performance on or over a surface of a metal material. The problem can be solved by a metal surface treatment agent containing: a prescribed copolymer (A) obtained by polymerizing a compound (a) represented by the following Formula (1) [in Formula (1), R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and X— represents an ion of a halogen atom, or an acid anion] with a compound (b) represented by the following Formula (2) or (3) [in Formula (2), R.sup.5 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a benzyl group, or a hydroxyalkyl group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms; and, in Formula (3), R.sup.8 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group]; and a water-soluble or water-dispersible resin (B).

Multimodal microstructure material and methods of forming same
In a method of forming a metallic material with a multimodal microstructure, nickel is deposited on a substrate having a patterned surface comprising two materials having differing microstructure. The resulting materials may desirably be utilized in semiconductor devices or microelectromechanical (MEMS) devices.
SUBSTRATE WITH MULTILAYER REFLECTION FILM FOR EUV MASK BLANK, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, AND EUV MASK BLANK
A substrate with a multilayer reflection film for an EUV mask blank including a substrate, and a multilayer reflection film formed on the substrate is provided. The multilayer reflection film includes a Si/Mo laminated portion in which Si layers and Mo layers are alternately laminated, and a layer containing Si and N intervenes at one or more portions between the Si layer and the Mo layer of the Si/Mo laminated portion, and is contact with both of the Si layer and the Mo layer.
DECORATIVE PVD COATED ITEMS AND RADOMES AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
A decorative radome including a radio-transmissive substrate having a first surface on a first side and a second surface on a second side; and a first surface radio-transmissive decorative coating; methods of manufacturing a PVD coated system include applying a hard coating to the substrate; applying a PVD coating by magnetron sputtering to the substrate; and laser etching one or more of a pattern or a graphic into the PVD coating; and A decorative PVD coated item, comprising: a substrate; a hard coating applied to the substrate; a PVD coating provided on the hard coating and the substrate, wherein the PVD coating is laser etched with one or more of a pattern or a graphic so that the PVD coating is at least partially removed and the pattern or the graphic is revealed as a result of the contrast between the substrate and the PVD coating.
FLUID TRANSPORT TUBING INCORPORATING A GRAPHENE IMPREGNATED OUTER COATING
An article and method for forming a coated metal pipe for use as an automotive fluid transport tube including a copper plated carbon steel tubing formed into a circular cross sectional profile. At least one intermediate layer including any of a corrosion inhibiting zinc/aluminum alloy, electroplated zinc or hot dip aluminum is applied over said tubing. One or more outer polymer or copolymer layers are applied over the intermediate layer, with the outer layer or multi-layers compounded with a graphene or graphene oxide powder.
Bright Color Coatings for Electronic Devices
An electronic device may include conductive structures such as conductive housing structures. A high-brightness, visible-light-reflecting coating may be formed on the conductive structures. The coating may have adhesion and transition layers and an uppermost coloring layer on the adhesion and transition layers. At least the uppermost coloring layer may be deposited using a high impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) process. The uppermost coloring layer may include a TiCrN film, a TiCrCN film, a TiCN film, or a metal nitride film that contains Ti, Zr, Hf, or Cr. The coating may exhibit a high-brightness gold color.
Thermal Barrier Coating
A coated substrate has a substrate and a coating system having one or more ceramic layers. At least a first layer of one of the one or more ceramic layers is a columnar layer having as-deposited columns and intercolumn gaps. The intercolumn gaps have a mean width at least one of: at least 4.0 micrometers; and at least 1.5% of a thickness of said first layer.
High pressure compressor seal-ring with improved wear resistance
A compressor seal-ring assembly includes a seal formed of a nickel, cobalt or iron-based superalloy; a counterface positioned for sealing interaction with the seal; and a lubricant coating on the seal, the lubricant coating being formed of a CoCrAlY-containing material.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING FOR SEGMENTED ELECTRIC MACHINES
A method of making a component of an electrical machine is provided. An additive manufacturing process is used to manufacture a part, including applying beams of energy to a successive plurality of ferromagnetic material particles and fusing them together to form a ring or segment of a ring with an axis, a solid portion, and laminas that extend from the solid portion in a radial or axial direction.
