Process for recovering components from pickling acid residue
A novel process for treating and recovering valuable metals and other components from pickling acid residue (PAR) has been developed. The metals and other components are recovered by neutralizing the pickling acid residue using a magnesium compound or a mixture of magnesium compounds, and separating components of the resulting mixture (metals and sulfates) into products that can be reused, such as magnesium sulfate, nickel sulfate, iron and chromium phosphate, or various metal hydroxides or oxides.
METHOD OF REMOVING LEAD MATERIALS TO REGENERATE ANODE FOR MANUFACTURING COPPER FOIL
Disclosed is a method of removing lead materials from an anode for manufacturing copper foil to regenerate the anode. The method includes cleaning solution preparation, anode cleaning and anode washing. The cleaning solution preparation includes preparing a cleaning solution containing an aqueous solution of EDTA and citric acid. The cleaning solution used to perform the anode cleaning has a pH of 7 to 9 and a temperature of 20 to 50? C. The anode cleaning includes cleaning the anode by immersing the anode including the lead materials attached to the surface thereof in the cleaning solution to perform EDTA-Pb chelation. As a result, the transfer of the lead materials from the anode to the cleaning solution means substantial removal of the lead materials from the anode. The anode, from which the lead materials have been removed, is washed using a high-pressure washer.

Method for pickling steel plate and pickling apparatus
A method for pickling a steel plate having a first steel plate portion and a second steel plate portion which is connected to a tail end of the first steel plate portion and which requires a longer time for pickling than the first steel plate portion when pickled under the same condition includes: a step of pickling the steel plate by immersing the steel plate in an acid solution in at least one pickling tank while conveying the steel plate; a step of circulating the acid solution, through a circulation line connected to any of the at least one pickling tank, between the pickling tank and an oxidizing device disposed in the circulation line; a step of oxidizing Fe.sup.2+ in the acid solution to Fe.sup.3+ by the oxidizing device using a gaseous oxidant; and a feeding start step of, upon switching from pickling of the first steel plate portion to pickling of the second steel plate portion, starting feeding of a liquid oxidant for oxidizing Fe.sup.2+ in the acid solution to Fe.sup.3+ to any of the at least one pickling tank or to the circulation line.
CLEANING PLANT FOR METAL PRODUCTS
A cleaning plant for hot-rolled metal strips provided with a surface oxide layer, the plant comprising unwinding means for unwinding at least one coil of rolled strip and pickling means for pickling said rolled strip; wherein there are provided measuring means for measuring the thickness of the surface oxide layer, arranged between said unwinding means and said pickling means; and wherein gaseous hydrogen detection means are provided to detect the presence of gaseous hydrogen in fumes produced by said pickling means. A corresponding cleaning method is also claimed.
Acid solution preparation device, acid solution supply apparatus, and pickling facility
An acid solution preparation device is an acid solution preparation device for preparing an acid solution used for pickling of a steel plate, the device including a sealed tank for storing the acid solution, a gas supply part for supplying an oxygen-containing gas from outside of the sealed tank to the sealed tank, and a purge part for discharging a gas in the sealed tank to the outside.
Method for corrosion-protective serial surface treatment of metallic components
The present invention relates to a method for serial surface treatment of metallic components comprising aluminum surfaces, wherein an alkaline pretreatment is followed by a conversion treatment. According to the invention, the intention during the alkaline pretreatment is that a maximum value for the concentration of dissolved zinc is not exceeded, in order to ensure a sufficient quality of the corrosion-protective coating on the aluminum surface of the components following the surface treatment. In a preferred embodiment, the content of dissolved zinc is effectively held below the respective bath-typical maximum value of dissolved zinc by the addition of compounds constituting a source of sulfide ions. The functionality of the surface treatment can be additionally increased by likewise controlling the content of dissolved aluminum in the alkaline pretreatment such that, by adding compounds constituting a source for silicate anions, a threshold value for dissolved aluminum is not exceeded.

Process for the recovery of metals and hydrochloric acid
A method for recovering hydrochloric acid and metal oxides from a chloride liquor is described. The method uses a chloride liquor including the metal and mixing the liquor and a matrix solution to produce a reaction mixture, wherein the matrix solution assists oxidation/hydrolysis of the metal with HCl production. In a preferred embodiment the matrix solution includes zinc chloride in various stages of hydration and an oxygen containing gas is added to the mix. A method where the improvement is the mixing of a liquor and a matrix solution where the solution assists hydrolysis of the metal with HCl production is also disclosed. The reactor is a column reactor in a preferred embodiment. Further disclosed is the method of using the matrix solution and a reactor for recovering hydrochloric acid and for oxidizing/hydrolysis of a metal.
