An energy-saving illuminated cosmetic container includes a container including a cover, an externally threaded hollow projection on the cover; a cover; a carrier in the cover and including an axial passageway, threads on an inner surface of the passageway for threadedly securing to the external threads, and an internal conductor; an illumination assembly in the carrier and including a light sensor, a light, a positive electrode member at one end, and a negative electrode member at the other end; a cosmetic stick including an applicator at one end and an attaching member at the other end; a sealing ring put on the cosmetic stick; and a biasing member having one end urging against the passageway to electrically connect to the negative electrode member, and the other end urging against a negative electrode of a cell assembly. A cosmetic case according to the present invention for selectively receiving miniature cosmetic items includes a lower case portion having a bottom wall and a continuous side wall extending upwardly from a perimeter edge of the bottom wall, the lower case having an open top and defining an interior area. The cosmetic case includes an upper case portion pivotally coupled to a rear section of the side wall of the lower case portion and being selectively movable between open and closed configurations.
