Preparation of rare earth permanent magnet
A rare earth permanent magnet is prepared by immersing a portion of a sintered magnet body of R.sup.1—Fe—B composition (wherein R.sup.1 is a rare earth element) in an electrodepositing bath of a powder dispersed in a solvent, the powder comprising an oxide, fluoride, oxyfluoride, hydride or rare earth alloy of a rare earth element, effecting electrodeposition for letting the powder deposit on a region of the surface of the magnet body, and heat treating the magnet body with the powder deposited thereon at a temperature below the sintering temperature in vacuum or in an inert gas.

Vent plug and method
A vent plug and method are provide for isolating a feature of a part. The vent plug includes a plug receivable in an opening in the part to form an airtight seal between the plug and the surface of the part. A stem is receivable in a bore through the plug. The stem includes a cap and a collar. The cap has a sealing surface extending radially from an outer surface of the stem and engageable with a first surface of the plug such that sealing surface overlaps a vent hole extending through the plug. The collar extends radially from the outer surface of the stem and captures the plug between the collar and the cap.

PLANAR TRANSFORMER COMPONENTS COMPRISING ELECTROPHORETICALLY DEPOSITED COATING
Provided is an electrically insulated component for use in a planar transformer. The insulated component may include a planar transformer conductive component having a first surface, a second surface and a plurality of edges. The insulated component may also include a first layer including an oxidized metal coating, as well as a second layer including an electrophoretically deposited (EPD) insulating coating. The EDP coating may include a polymer and an inorganic material. The first layer and the second layer may cover at least the first surface and the plurality of edges of the conductive component and the first layer may be disposed between the conductive component and the second layer. Also provided is a method of manufacturing of the electrically insulated component.
INSULATED ELECTRIC WIRE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
An insulated electric wire and a method of producing the electric wire are provided. The insulated electric wire includes: a copper wire; and an insulating coating formed on a surface of the copper wire by an electrodeposition method. A cross section shape of the insulated electric wire including the insulating coating is in a hexagonal shape, a chamfered part that suppresses swelling of the insulating coating is formed on each corner part of a hexagonal cross section of the copper wire, a length of the chamfered part is 1/3 to 1/20 of a length of a flat part of the hexagonal cross section, and a void ratio in a wound state is 5% or less.
Method of making corrosion resistant and glossy appearance coating for light metal workpiece
A metal workpiece, such as a wheel, and a method of providing an enhanced corrosion resistant surface coating on an exposed surface of a metal or alloy substrate (such as magnesium). A corrosion resistance basecoat is formed, including generating an oxide layer, and applying a first primer coating onto at least a portion of the oxide layer. The method may further include identifying highest corrosion prone areas on the substrate and designing a support rack that avoids contact with these corrosion prone areas. The method also includes forming a topcoat over at least a portion of the basecoat, by applying a second primer coating onto at least a portion of the first primer coating and depositing a sputtered metallic film onto the second primer coating using a physical vapor deposition technique. A clear coat layer may be applied over the metallic film.
COATING METHOD FOR CLAD STEEL AND COATING SOLUTION FOR COATING CLAD STEEL
A coating method for a clad steel in which stainless sheets are combined on adjacent surfaces of an aluminum sheet may include preparing the clad steel, preparing a coating solution in which an epoxy resin and titanium dioxide (TiO.sub.2) powder are combined in an acrylic resin, etching the clad steel to improve adhesion property between the coating solution and the clad steel, heating the clad steel, and performing electrodeposition by immersing the clad steel in the coating solution.
