A cosmetic container, such as a compact, that comprises a lid hingedly connected to a base, and a lighting circuit. Some embodiments of the invention comprises a one-way mirror, while others comprise a variable transparency film. Preferred embodiments, however, comprise both a one-way mirror and a variable transparency film that work cooperatively to provide a lid that is see through when viewed from the outside, and reflective when viewed from the inside.

An applicator device includes a photo-active formulation assembly and a photo-dose assembly operably coupled to the photo-active formulation assembly. The photo-active formulation assembly includes one or a plurality of dispenser portions and one or more photo-activatable formulation reservoirs. The photo-active formulation assembly is operable to dispense a photo-activatable formulation from the one or more photo-activatable formulation reservoirs onto one or more regions of a biological surface. The photo-dose assembly includes at least one illuminator oriented to focus electromagnetic energy onto one or more focal regions of a biological surface. The focused electromagnetic energy is of a character and for a duration sufficient to photo-activate the photo-activatable formulation dispensed from the one or more photo-activatable formulation reservoirs.

The separation panel can be used to organize personal items. In addition to mounting the mirror, the separation panel can also be used to mount a light source. Make-up items, tools, and other comparable items can be held within a structural body of both the first half shell and the second half shell.

COSMETIC PALETTE AND GODETS THEREFOR

A cosmetic palette including a palette base having a smooth surface, at least one cosmetic-containing godet having a flat bottom disposed on the smooth surface, and a patch of micro-suction fastener material having one surface attached to the bottom of the godet and an opposed micro-suction surface engaging the smooth surface, wherein the godet is removably secured to the palette base surface by micro-suction provided by the patch enabling the godet to be selectively positionable on the smooth surface, and wherein the force required to separate the patch from the godet is greater than that required to separate the patch from the smooth surface. The palette may have a plurality of cosmetic-containing godets with flat bottoms and a corresponding plurality of micro-suction fastener material patches respectively attached to the bottoms of the godets and securing the godets to the smooth surface. The smooth surface may be a mirror surface.

The client device is configured to provide an interactive user experience by displaying templated instructions for makeup application. Templated instructions provide a paint-by-numbers approach to daily makeup application. The makeup compact further comprises a client device housing, wherein the client device can be docked for the duration of makeup application and coaching. The client device housing is separated from a protective cover by a semi-transparent display that can allow for tactile interaction with the client device. The semi-transparent display, therefore, in this orientation, serves as a back projection plane, wherein the template instruction from the client device is communicated to the user as it appears on the semi-transparent display.
