Disclosed herein are methods and systems for the production of hydrogen-containing compounds, such as ammonia and urea from a product stream of a fuel cell unit. The production of ammonia and optionally urea can also include a net power production. Alternatively, the hydrogen stream from the fuel cell unit can be directed to the production of synthetic hydrocarbons liquids.

The invention relates to a device for producing a dihydrogen gas including an enclosure, means for conveying the product into the enclosure, which comprise a screw mounted so as to rotate in the enclosure about a geometric axis of rotation, means for heating the screw by the Joule effect, and a unit for removing impurities present in the gas. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing dihydrogen using such a device as well as to a use of the device for the treatment of a product such as CSR material or polymer material.
Process and apparatus for cracking ammonia
The invention concerns a process and apparatus for cracking ammonia in which heated ammonia gas at super-atmospheric pressure is partially cracked catalytically in an adiabatic reaction unit to produce partially cracked ammonia gas which is heated and fed to catalyst-containing reactor tubes in a furnace to cause cracking of further ammonia and produce a cracked gas comprising hydrogen gas, nitrogen gas and residual ammonia gas. At least some, preferably all, of the duty required to heat the partially cracked ammonia gas is provided by heat exchange with the cracked gas, enabling more efficient heat integration within the process.
Process and apparatus for cracking ammonia
The invention concerns a process and apparatus for cracking ammonia in which heated ammonia gas at super-atmospheric pressure is partially cracked in at least two adiabatic reactors in series with interstage heating in which the feed temperature to a first reactor is higher than the feed temperature to a further reactor to produce a partially cracked ammonia gas which is then fed to catalyst-containing reactor tubes in a furnace to produce a cracked gas comprising hydrogen gas, nitrogen gas and residual ammonia gas. The use of the adiabatic reactors enables more efficient heat integration within the process and the higher temperature in the first reactor enables the use of a nickel-based catalyst in that reactor as an alternative solution to the potential problem of the presence of oil in the ammonia.
METHOD FOR USING NATURAL GAS FUEL TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE OF PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION HYDROGEN UNIT IN AN INTEGRATED FACILITY
A process is disclosed for increasing hydrogen recovery in an integrated refinery and petrochemical complex in which natural gas is used as a co-purge gas in a pressure swing adsorption unit. This natural gas is recovered in tail gas from the pressure swing adsorption unit. This process is useful for refinery off-gas and partial oxidation feeds.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL, ITS MANUFACTURE AND USE IN GAS PURIFICATION
Disclosed herein is a composite material formed from an inorganic mesoporous, or mesoporous-like, material that is dispersed throughout a polymeric matrix formed by a crosslinked polymer that has acidic- or basic-residues and which may also optionally have further acidic- or basic-residues grafted onto the inorganic mesoporous material. The resulting composite material may be used to remove acidic or basic impurities from a gas in need thereof and can be easily regenerated.
Multi-purpose application of the second stage of a 2-stage bio-reforming reactor system for reforming bio-syngas, natural gas and process recycle streams
Multiple stages of reactors form a bio-reforming reactor that generates chemical grade bio-syngas for any of 1) a methanol synthesis reactor, 2) a Methanol-to-Gasoline reactor train, 3) a high temperature Fischer-Tropsch reactor train, and 4) any combination of these three that use the chemical grade bio-syngas derived from biomass fed into the bio-reforming reactor. A tubular chemical reactor of a second stage has inputs configured to receive chemical feedstock from at least two sources, i) the raw syngas from the reactor output of the first stage via a cyclone, and ii) purge gas containing renewable carbon-based gases that are recycled back via a recycle loop as a chemical feedstock from any of 1) the downstream methanol-synthesis-reactor train, 2) the downstream methanol-to-gasoline reactor train, or 3) purge gas from both trains. The plant produces fuel products with solely 100% biogenic carbon content as well as fuel products with 50-100% biogenic carbon content.

An exemplary system includes a reaction furnace including a porous burner, an inlet for an oxygen stream into the porous burner, an inlet for the acid gas stream into the porous burner, and a plurality of inlets on the reaction furnace for injecting an inert coolant.
