AN INTEGRATED AND TUNABLE SYSTEM FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SYNGAS AND CHEMICALS VIA SOLAR-ASSISTED ELECTROLYSIS AND COMBINED REFORMING
A method and system for producing syngas The method includes providing separate streams of oxygen gas and hydrogen gas, the oxygen gas and the hydrogen gas generated from electrolysis of water. The separate stream of oxygen gas is introduced into a reforming module configured to generate a reformed syngas feed, where the oxygen gas oxidizes natural gas supplied to the reforming module. The separate stream of hydrogen gas and the reformed syngas feed are mixed to adjust a ratio of hydrogen gas to carbon monoxide gas (H.sub.2:CO) to produce a syngas product feed. The system includes a reforming module to receive a stream of oxygen gas, where the oxygen gas oxidizes natural gas supplied to the reforming module to generate a reformed syngas feed. The system includes a mixing module to receive the reformed syngas feed and a stream of hydrogen gas to thereby adjust a ratio of hydrogen gas to carbon monoxide gas (H.sub.2:CO) in a syngas product feed released from the mixing module. The stream of oxygen gas and the stream of hydrogen gas are generated from electrolysis of water.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AN IMPROVED CARBON MONOXIDE COLD BOX OPERATION
The present invention is directed to a method and system of separating carbon monoxide from syngas mixtures with low methane content by cryogenic means where a partial condensation cycle is generally employed, and more specifically towards providing a methane slip stream to the feed in order to reduce the potential for any carbon dioxide entering the cold box to freeze, thereby preventing plugging of the cold box heat exchanger.
Process For Producing Hydrogen From CO-rich Gases
The disclosure relates to a process for enriching a synthesis gas in hydrogen by contacting said synthesis gas with a water gas shift catalyst, the synthesis gas being a CO-rich synthesis gas including at least 15 vol % CO and at least 1 ppmv sulfur, and the water gas shift catalyst including Zn, Al, optionally Cu, and an alkali metal or alkali metal compound; the water gas shift catalyst is free of chromium (Cr) and iron (Fe), and has a pore volume, as determined by mercury intrusion, of 240 ml/kg or higher.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DIESEL FUELED CLC FOR EFFICIENT POWER GENERATION AND CO2 CAPTURE
An integrated chemical looping combustion (CLC) electrical power generation system and method for diesel fuel combining four primary units including: gasification of diesel to ensure complete conversion of fuel, chemical looping combustion with supported nickel-based oxygen carrier on alumina, gas turbine-based power generation and steam turbine-based power generation is described. An external combustion and a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) are employed to maximize the efficiency of a gas turbine generator and steam turbine generator. The integrated CLC system provides a clean and efficient diesel fueled power generation plant with high CO.sub.2 recovery.
Production System and Method of Production for Organic Compound or Microorganism
Provided is a novel production system that does not involve, or can minimize, the transport of liquid ammonia in the production of an organic compound or the production of a microorganism by microbial fermentation. A production system for an organic compound or a microorganism includes: an ammonia synthesis apparatus in which an ammonia-containing gas is synthesized by reaction of a source gas containing hydrogen and nitrogen in the presence of a supported ruthenium catalyst; and a culture apparatus that cultures a microorganism having organic compound productivity using ammonia originating from the ammonia-containing gas obtained by using the ammonia synthesis apparatus.
Multi-reaction process for forming a product gas from solid carbonaceous material
A direct carbonaceous material to power generation system integrates one or more solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) into a fluidized bed gasifier. The fuel cell anode is in direct contact with bed material so that the H.sub.2 and CO generated in the bed are oxidized to H.sub.2O and CO.sub.2 to create a push-pull or source-sink reaction environment. The SOFC is exothermic and supplies heat within a reaction chamber of the gasifier where the fluidized bed conducts an endothermic reaction. The products from the anode are the reactants for the reformer and vice versa. A lower bed in the reaction chamber may comprise engineered multi-function material which may incorporate one or more catalysts and reactant adsorbent sites to facilitate excellent heat and mass transfer and fluidization dynamics in fluidized beds. The catalyst is capable of cracking tars and reforming hydrocarbons.
Integrated GTL process
An integrated process for converting light hydrocarbon gases into products. Pre-packaged equipment such as a gas turbine and process compressors may be used to efficiently integrate the process. The gas turbine may provide a portion of the oxygen required in the process as compressed air. An additional oxygen rich stream may be provided by a separate air separation process so that the combined air and oxygen rich streams have an oxygen content of 25% to 50%. The gas turbine may also provide thermal energy to pre-heat the oxygen rich stream and feed gas stream and power to run compressors, air separation, and auxiliaries in the process.
Process for purification of a synthesis gas containing hydrogen and impurities
A process for purification of a current of hydrogen synthesis gas (100), particularly in the front-end of an ammonia plant, wherein said gas contains hydrogen and minor amounts of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, water and impurities, said process including steps of methanation (13) of said current (100), converting residual amounts of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide to methane and water, dehydration (14) of the gas to remove water, and then a cryogenic purification (15) such as liquid nitrogen wash, to remove methane and Argon; a corresponding plant and method for revamping an ammonia plant are also disclosed.
Conditioned syngas composition, method of making same and method of processing same to produce fuels and/or fischer-tropsch products
A system and method for processing unconditioned syngas first removes solids and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOC), then removes volatile organic compounds (VOC), and then removes at least one sulfur containing compound from the syngas. Additional processing may be performed depending on such factors as the source of syngas being processed, the products, byproducts and intermediate products desired to be formed, captured or recycled and environmental considerations.
