BIOGAS CONVERSION TO MIXED ALCOHOLS
Some variations provide a process for producing mixed alcohols, comprising: purifying a biogas feedstock to generate a renewable natural gas stream comprising methane; introducing the renewable natural gas stream into a methane-to-syngas unit operated at effective conditions to convert the methane to a first syngas stream containing at least H.sub.2, CO, and CO.sub.2; purifying the first syngas stream, including separating the CO.sub.2 from the first syngas stream, and optionally separating some of the H.sub.2 from the first syngas stream, thereby generating a clean syngas stream; introducing the clean syngas stream into a mixed-alcohol reactor operated at effective alcohol synthesis conditions with an alcohol-synthesis catalyst, thereby generating mixed alcohols; and purifying the mixed alcohols to generate a mixed-alcohol product. The mixed-alcohol product may be blended with a hydrocarbon fuel, such as gasoline, to produce a blended fuel. The blended fuel has significantly lower carbon intensity than the base hydrocarbon fuel.
CO-PRODUCTION OF METHANOL AND AMMONIA
A plant for the co-production of methanol and ammonia from a hydrocarbon feed without venting to the atmosphere carbon dioxide captured from the methanol or ammonia synthesis gas and without using expensive air separation units and water gas shift.
CARBON CAPTURE IN FERMENTATION
The disclosure relates to methods of capturing carbon by microbial fermentation of a gaseous substrate comprising CO into one or more first products which, in turn, may be incorporated into an article of manufacture or one or more second products. Further, the disclosure relates to improving carbon capture and/or efficiency.
Processing facility to form hydrogen and petrochemicals
A processing facility is provided that includes a feedstock separation system configured to separate a feed stream into a lights stream and a heavies stream, a hydrogen production system configured to produce hydrogen and carbon dioxide from the lights stream, and a carbon dioxide conversion system configured to produce synthetic hydrocarbons from the carbon dioxide. The processing facility includes a hydroprocessing system configured to process the heavies stream.
METHOD AND REACTOR FOR PRODUCING ONE OR MORE PRODUCTS
A feedstock gas, such as natural gas, is introduced into a mixing chamber. A combustible gas is introduced into a combustion chamber, for example simultaneously to the introduction of the feedstock gas. Thereafter, the combustible gas is ignited so as to cause the combustible gas to flow into the mixing chamber via one or more fluid flow paths between the combustion chamber and the mixing chamber, and to mix with the feedstock gas. The mixing of the combustible gas with the feedstock gas causes one or more products to be produced.
REDUCING CARBON EMISSIONS ASSOCIATED WITH WASTE GAS
Methods of the present disclosure may comprise: introducing a first effluent and a second effluent in a gasifier of a partial oxidation unit to produce a waste gas, wherein the first effluent comprises one or more hydrocarbon containing feeds and the second effluent comprises air, enriched air with oxygen or oxygen; selectively removing hydrogen sulfide (H.sub.2S) from the waste gas; combining the waste gas and steam in a water-gas shift unit to produce a shift gas comprising hydrogen and carbon dioxide; separating the carbon dioxide from the shift gas in a carbon capture unit to produce a carbon dioxide-enriched effluent and an effluent comprising a hydrogen- and nitrogen-enriched mixture; and recovering the carbon dioxide from the carbon dioxide-enriched effluent.
Methods and systems for diesel fueled CLC for efficient power generation and CO.SUB.2 .capture
An integrated chemical looping combustion (CLC) electrical power generation system and method for diesel fuel combining four primary units including: gasification of diesel to ensure complete conversion of fuel, chemical looping combustion with supported nickel-based oxygen carrier on alumina, gas turbine-based power generation and steam turbine-based power generation is described. An external combustion and a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) are employed to maximize the efficiency of a gas turbine generator and steam turbine generator. The integrated CLC system provides a clean and efficient diesel fueled power generation plant with high CO.sub.2 recovery.
METHODS OF PRODUCING ONE OR MORE PRODUCTS USING A FEEDSTOCK GAS REACTOR
There is described a method of using a feedstock gas reactor. Reaction of feedstock and combustion gases in the reactor produces hydrogen through pyrolysis of the feedstock gas. At least some of a mixed product stream extracted from the reactor may be recycled to the reactor to drive further pyrolysis of the feedstock gas. A portion of the recycled mixed product stream may be recirculated back to a combustion chamber of the reactor, and a portion of the recycled mixed product stream may be recirculated back to a reaction chamber of the reactor.
GASIFICATION OF DENSIFIED TEXTILES AND SOLID FOSSIL FUELS TO PRODUCE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS
Densified textile aggregates are co-fed with a fuel into a partial oxidation gasifier. High solids concentrations in the feedstock composition can be obtained without significant impact on the feedstock composition stability and pumpability. A consistent quality of syngas can be continuously produced, including generation of carbon dioxide and a carbon monoxide/hydrogen ratio while stably operating the gasifier and avoiding the high tar generation of fluidized bed or fixed bed waste gasifiers and without impacting the operations of the gasifier. The syngas quality, composition, and throughput are suitable for produce a wide range of chemicals.
METHANOL PRODUCTION SYSTEM AND METHANOL PRODUCTION METHOD
A methanol production system of the present disclosure includes: a reformer including a reaction furnace configured to reform methane in a raw material gas to produce a reformed gas containing CO and H.sub.2; a reduced-gas generator configured to reduce CO.sub.2 to produce a reduced gas containing CO; and a methanol-containing gas generator configured to produce a methanol-containing gas which contains methanol from a reformed gas produced in the reaction furnace and a reduced gas produced in the reduced-gas generator.
