A synthesis gas plant for producing synthesis gas, said synthesis gas plant including an electrically heated reforming reactor system including a first catalyst active for catalyzing steam methane reforming reaction, said electrically heated reforming reactor system being arranged to receive a feed gas comprising hydrocarbons and outletting a first synthesis gas stream. The synthesis gas plant also includes a post converter downstream the electrically heated reforming reactor system, said post converter housing a second catalyst active for catalyzing steam methane reforming/methanation reactions and reverse water gas shift reaction, said post converter being arranged to receive at least part of said first synthesis gas stream and outletting a second synthesis gas stream. Furthermore, the synthesis gas plant includes means for adding a heated CO.sub.2 rich gas stream to the at least part of the first synthesis gas stream upstream the post converter and/or into the post converter.

Methods and systems for gas separation of syngas applying differences in water solubilities of syngas components, the method including producing a product gas comprising hydrogen and carbon dioxide from a hydrocarbon fuel source; separating hydrogen from the product gas to create a hydrogen product stream and a byproduct stream by solubilizing components in water that are more soluble in water than hydrogen; injecting the byproduct stream into a reservoir containing mafic rock; and allowing components of the byproduct stream to react in situ with components of the mafic rock to precipitate and store components of the byproduct stream in the reservoir.

An integrated process for the production of a useful liquid hydrocarbon product comprises: feeding a gasification zone with an oxygen-containing feed and a first carbonaceous feedstock comprising waste materials and/or biomass, gasifying the first carbonaceous feedstock in the gasification zone to produce first synthesis gas, partially oxidising the first synthesis gas in a partial oxidation zone to generate partially oxidised synthesis gas, combining at least a portion of the first synthesis gas and/or the partially oxidised synthesis gas and at least a portion of electrolysis hydrogen obtained from an electrolyser in an amount to achieve the desired hydrogen to carbon monoxide molar ratio of from about 1.5:1 to about 2.5:1, and to generate a blended synthesis gas, wherein the electrolyser operates using green electricity; and subjecting at least a portion of the blended synthesis gas to a conversion process effective to produce the liquid hydrocarbon product.

INTEGRATED HYDROGEN PRODUCTION AND BIO-RENEWABLE CONVERSION PROCESS

A bio-renewable conversion process for making fuel from bio-renewable feedstocks is combined with a hydrogen production process that includes recovery of CO.sub.2. The integrated process uses a purge gas stream comprising hydrogen from the bio-renewable hydrocarbon production process in the hydrogen production process.

PROCESS AND PLANT FOR THE PURIFICATION OF RAW SYNTHESIS GAS

A process for the stepwise separation of accompanying gases from a raw synthesis gas stream by a liquid absorbent countercurrently guided through all process steps and circulated via regeneration plants, wherein either the accompanying gases H.sub.2S, COS and CO.sub.2 are separated in a common absorption step or, in one of the selective absorption steps chiefly H.sub.2S and COS are separated and in the next step in flow direction of the gas chiefly CO.sub.2 is separated, and in the last step a separation of accompanying gas residues (fine wash) is effected, wherein before the separation of H.sub.2S and COS an absorption step chiefly for the separation of aromatics and subsequently an absorption step chiefly for the separation of methyl mercaptan is carried out.

PROCESS AND PLANT FOR PRODUCING METHANOL AND CARBON MONOXIDE

The present invention specifies a process and a plant for simultaneous production of methanol and pure carbon monoxide which includes synthesis gas production by partial oxidation of an input stream containing hydrocarbons and subsequent methanol synthesis. According to the invention carbon dioxide is separated from the raw synthesis gas using a sorption apparatus and at least partially introduced into the input gas for the methanol synthesis reactor.

PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SYNTHETIC LIQUID HYDROCARBONS FROM NATURAL GAS

A process synthesizes C.sub.5 and higher hydrocarbons from natural gas through intermediate conversion of natural gas to synthesis gas and subsequent conversion of CO and H.sub.2 by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The process includes steam reforming of natural gas in a steam reforming reactor to form synthesis gas, separating carbon dioxide from the synthesis gas by a liquid absorption method to a residual carbon dioxide content in the synthesis gas no more than 5 vol. %, separating an excess of hydrogen from the synthesis gas by a hydrogen-permeable membrane apparatus to a H.sub.2:CO molar ratio in the range of 1.9 to 2.3 and synthesizing liquid hydrocarbon from the synthesis gas by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.

Integration of power generation with methane reforming

The system includes a methane reformer, a combined cycle power generator, and a switch. The reformer is configured to react methane with steam. The combined cycle power generator includes a steam turbine, a gas turbine, a power generator, and a water boiler. The steam turbine is configured to rotate in response to receiving steam. The gas turbine is configured to rotate in response to receiving a mixture of fuel and air. The power generator is configured to convert rotational energy from the steam turbine and the gas turbine into electricity. In a first position, the switch is configured to direct exhaust from the gas turbine to the reformer, thereby providing heat to the reformer. In a second position, the switch is configured to direct exhaust from the gas turbine to the water boiler, thereby providing heat to the water boiler to generate steam.

FLEXIBLE METHOD OF PARTIAL OXIDATION

Disclosed are methods of using a hot oxygen generator to respond to changes in the characteristic of the feed to a partial oxidation reactor.
